OFFENSE:

* Orton’s .647 winning percentage (22-12) as a starter for his career ranks seventh in the NFL among active quarterbacks (min. 25 starts). His 15-2 (.882) record at home is the league’s best since his rookie year in 2005.
* WR Brandon Marshall is the only player in the NFL to post at least 100 catches and 1,200 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons. He is tied for second and fifth in the league in receptions (210) and receiving yards (2,617), respectively, since 2007.

DEFENSE:

* The Broncos held Cincinnati scoreless for the first 59:22 last week and gave up the fewest points in club history for a road season opener (7). Denver added three sacks and two interceptions in its win.
* S Brian Dawkins had a game-high 11 tackles against the Bengals. A 14-year veteran and seven-time Pro Bowler, Dawkins has totaled the second-most career tackles (924) among active NFL defensive backs according to press box statistics.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

* K Matt Prater improved to 6-of-7 on 50-yard field goal attempts for his career with a 50-yard conversion in Cincinnati. Including preseason, he has made his last 10 field goal attempts dating back to last year.
* FB Peyton Hillis posted three tackles on coverage units against the Bengals that tied for the NFL Week 1 lead.

Once the Cleveland/Denver games start, I get a flashback to 1986 and my rivalry juices get going.

Growing up in Ohio and now living in Ohio again, it is always a game I want to win badly....and we usually do.

When I was a kid, it was me and one or two other Broncos fans in school....with tons of Browns fans. Those AFC Championship Games were sweet bliss for me back in the day. I wanted to win those games more than words can explain. They were literally my Super Bowls. I remember after 'The Drive' (I was 14 at the time) I went outside and hurled myself into a snow bank and rolled around in the snow hysterically laughing with joy like I had won a hundred million dollars.

Great memories....to me, 80s era football was something special.

how the hell did Sharpe not go in as a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer? that is the equivalent of skipping Jerry Rice or any other player who retired as the greatest of all time at their respective position. Sharpe was unquestionably the greatest receiving TE in NFL history when he hung up his pads, and was screwed by the HOF voters who didn't see that. There is no justifiable reason to not allow a guy who revolutionized the TE position and put up numbers as a TE that 95% of NFL receivers would kill to put up to not be a 1st ballot Hall of Famer.

The official reason given was that he was on too many Super Bowl winning teams.

Which means, those teams had many great players.

Which means he might have been made to look better than he really was, due to surrounding talent.

Go figure.

I am actually surprised the voters allowed Elway in. Especially, since he never won a Super Bowl without Shanahan.

i can understand Aikman as a 1st ballot guy. Dallas QB multiple super bowl wins, put up good numbers was probably the best QB in the early 90s.

but Irvin as a 1st ballot is bull****.

I think which ever QB can side-step the pass rush will be the most successful today.

I'm watching the Jets vs NE right now, and watching how Brady is executing the NE offense, and for the most part he's moving the team passing wise by merely pulling the trigger and not holding the ball to long.

I think this what McD is asking from Orton right now.....is just "pull the trigger" and throw the ball. Orton is taking care of the ball wish important. Now Kyle just needs to trust his reads and release the ball and the offense should start moving the ball.

I know it sounds-looks easy.....but Brady and Cassel sure made it look easy and McDaniels is probably a bit flabergasted why Kyle is struggling so much.
