Default McKelvin's home vandalized after the loss

HAMBURG, N.Y. (AP) - The front lawn of a home belonging to Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin was vandalized following Buffalo's season-opening loss to New England.

Hamburg police on Tuesday confirmed the home of a Bills player was vandalized, but declined to release details of their investigation after an obscenity and the score of Monday night's game a 25-24 loss to the Patriots were painted in white on the player's lawn in suburban Buffalo.

McKelvin fumbled a kickoff return with under two minutes to play and the Bills leading 24-19. Three plays later, New England's Tom Brady hit Benjamin Watson for the go-ahead touchdown as the Patriots overcome an 11-point deficit in the final 2:06.

Could be worse. I remember that Colombian goalie that gave up a goal to the US in the World Cup back in the 90s and was killed for his screw up.

I guess them there Soccer folks in Colombia are real fans!

You mean the people of Buffalo have nothing better to do than take sports too seriously?

Wow, I'm truly shocked.

In related breaking news, water is wet.

He sort of deserved that though, that was about the most selfish play I've ever seen.

Well, the way he tells it, he was backpedaling and wasn't sure of his position, if he would be hit with a safety, etc. So he took off.

With that said, he should have just gone down rather than fighting for extra yardage.

You stay classy, Buffalo.

I'll be glad to root for Leodis as a Bronco any day. Just send him right on over. Whoever takes a football game that serious is breathing air they don't deserve to breathe.

He was a defender, Andreas Escobar.

He accidently hit the ball in to his own net, trying a sliding clearance.

Was killed by drunk fans in a bar who had lost lots of money wagered on that game.

Sad incident

All I have to say to that is BS. God gave the man 2 eyes. All he had to do was take 1 second to look down to see where his feet were. But yes, the #1 thing he should have been thinking of (and really, this doesn't change just because there was little time left and they had the lead) is ball security.

There's a reason why I avoid Bills games like the plague...I wouldn't go into the Ralph even if the AFC Championship was on the line. They're worse than Philly fans, they're animals, plain and simple.

Did you ever see Buffalo 66? It was made by Vincent Gallo - Buffalo native - and how his mom loved the Bills more than him. She blamed him for missing the Bills only Championship in '65 because he was being born. ha ha. The fans in that movie destroyed the kicker's house after they lost the SB and he wanted to kill him cuz he lost money on the game. Yeah, it's only a movie but Vincent should know.
