What makes you think cheerleaders understand football. Most of them don't and no one really cares.

nothing fail about that. I love every part of the pic especially how the photog took enough telephotos to time it right to have stokley and the cincy LB between the cheerleaders... american classic

This happened during the Texas vs USC in the BCS Championship where the SC cheerleader was cheering as Young scored. The Bengals were probably in between cheers when the "disaster" hit for their team. It wasnt just one fine lady but several so I can only imagine it was just bad timing. But you know this will be made into one of those "inspirational posters" called TIMING.

Try this some time ... sit down with your mom/wife/gf, and politely ask them, without judgment, a few basic questions about football. You will probably be shocked ...

A few years ago my girlfriend said Roethlisberger was a "sneaky player," and "didn't play fair." Why? Because he "pretended" to hand the ball to one player but instead he was "hiding it behind his back"

I recently found out my Mom thought "downs" - first, second, third - meant the "down time," between plays, and my aunt thought whn they punted they were trying to go between the uprights for 3 points.

Most women - god love every one of 'em - are good at smiling and allowing us to enjoy what we're doing without interrupting. And that gives us the (often) false imrpession they understand what's happening on the field. These cheerleaders kinda proved that point.

Along those lines, my girlfriend routinely refers to any california baseball team as "a bunch of douchebags." WHy, I asked. "They just seem douch-ie."

Oh.

No explainin' that female mind.

So let me get this straight: your mom/wife/gf is the same person? because it would explain a lot.

I was helping officiate a "Pop Warner" game a few years ago and happened to be standing next to one of the coaches wives on the sidelines. She was doing a Team Mom thing helping the kids stay ready to go in. One of our kids pulled the ball out of their Running Back's hand during a play for a big time TO and we were cheering. She got upset and wanted me to talk to the ref because she was sure that they weren't allowed to do that. I managed not to laugh while I explained it to her. Pretty classy on my part, I think.

Thanks for sharing that. Hilarious.

My girlfriend calls Mike Shanahan "Shannon Sharpe" and calls Shannon Sharpe "Mike Shanahan".
