I haven't looked at the tackle stats but it seemed like Mario Haggan had a pretty decent game...a sack and a couple nice plays I remember including a nice tackle where he hustled downfield on a kick coverage and made the tackle. So my question is...did anyone notice what Rober Ayers did while he was in there today? Or was he even in there? I honestly don't recall seeing him in the game but I think I heard several people say he was. If so was he in for Haggen or Elvis? How soon does it look like this guy might see some playing time on the defense?

I saw him trail a play and end up looking on at a pile of Broncos and Bengals when the Bengals drove the field to take the lead from the Broncos. So he did get some burn, but he wasnt on the stat sheet at all.

I saw him on the opening drive. He was pretty much a non-factor the entire game which is disappointing out of a pick like that... then again Moreno wasn't much of an impact either. Smith was the best of our draft picks in today's game.

Yeah he played some special teams ... he might be a season-long project.
He'll be ready for the playoffs, though ![]() |

I noticed him early on in the game. He was LOST in coverage and was looking behind him (away from the QB) on a 3rd down conversion. Later in the game he looked a bit better. He will take some time, that's the best thing I can say about him right now.

He was out there, and out there early. That shows confidence in him, so that's a good sign.
He still looks a bit lost, though. Not a surprise. He was said to be right on the cusp of developing into a force, and we're asking him to play a complicated position. It'll take some time. I'm just happy he's getting playing time at all. |

i think he came in a few times, he wasn't in extensively and didn't really do much. he still seems a little lost and looks like he is going to need a bit more coaching before we see any dividends from him

The 2009 1st round didn't do us any favors today... Just have to hope they keep developing.
But right now we need Moreno much more than we need Ayers. Oddly enough we seem relatively deep at OLB. |

Up until this week i doubt Moreno was practicing much...from the looks of it, Buckhalter should have started and getting a majority of the carries.

buckhalter looked awesome....moreno's vision seemed a little off.....probably just the rust from not getting alot of reps in preseason....will get better in the next few games.....ayers was out there early, but didnt see much action in the 2nd half.....and smith stole the show as far as our 2009 draftees
