Default The late sack Orton took

No, I don't think Kyle Orton is a great QB. But before shredding him for taking a sack on Broncos second-to-last series, a few things to keep in mind.

1. He just made back-to-back plays but penalties screwed him.

2. For a play that needed to preserve field position (first) and pick up a safe couple yards (second), they never should have lined up five-wide. You don't expose your injured QB like that with the lead. That's on McDaniels (but I'm still going to give him a chance).

And finally, the Pats started slow on offense last year when they only replaced the QB. Orton is less than 100% and the offense is new to everyone. Wait until Nov. before giving up hope.

This is exactly what we should expect for another month which is why we should thank God that the first four weeks of the season are the softest. We need this month to get people on the same page. Nobody on the offense played well.
