Yes Yes Yes, I want the team to play smart and win. But for the love of god, I'm tired of just trying to out scheme and out think and out play call and out trick teams. That's all fine but only if you have already beat their ****ing heads in. I want the Broncos to just go out there and smash the other team right in the GD mouth. I want the offense to really lay on some pankcake blocking and have our WR's cut back and jack somebody up. I want our defense to knock Chad's ****ing head off. I want Dawkins to crack somebody's ribs. No more mr. nice team. It's time for the Broncos to get mean, real mean. As in Romanowski mean !!!!

none of this high school ra ra fan stuff matters if we don't win.

playing and hitting hard doesn't matter if you still lose.

i just want to win consistently. I don't care how that's done.

You should look into the Patriots than they will do anything to win.

I've always wondered why the Broncos over time have very rarely been the kind of physical team exemplfied by the Atwaters, Romo's and Dawkins type players we've had only rarely. Reeves perpetuated this with his emphasis on smarts and technique with the small finesse type guys he brought in and Shanny furthered it. If McD wants to win me over to his way of thinking after the events of hte last few months, he could go a long way towards that by bringing a Steelers type environment in here with hitters and physical play.

Well Atwater the playing smarter, turning ball over less, hitting more, all has to happen before we can win.

I know you just turn off the madden game and start over, but in the real world it doesn't work that way.

You have to have a plan, how you want team to be made up, then you look for your players and coach them up on the system.

It's going to take some time. How much I don't know but I know I like the theories I hear coming out of Dove Valley.

I know everyone bags on the screens but notice how every game you watch you see teams running those plays 3-4-5 times? It's a new twist in the NFL because CBS are playing off so they can watch qbs eyes.

I bet Marshall busts a screen pass for a big gainer today!!! 20 plus yrds!!!

I do think you will see that. He's going to be looking for bigger inside linebacking and more big bodies at the Dend spot.

You could already see that in the rookie FA he picked up, the UFA Fields, promoting the bigger Peterson to starter, drafting Ayers who is pretty big for an OLB.

I agree though its time to play smash mouth football. You can throw a lot and be an attacking offense and still punish people.

Its hard to be smash mouth when you throw a WR screen out of the SG 40 times a game. Because, it stands to reason that you would also be trying to run (aka not passing) out of the passing formation too.

Those WR screens to the weakside open up some big time chances for huge blocks. If you are one of the other WR you should be looking to take someones head off.

As someone who played a little football its hard to concentrate on the ball carrier when there are so many blockers around.

Those screens usually have 2 WR, or a WR and TE right out there to block. Then you have 3-4 Olineman bearing down from the middle of the field. I can only imagine how that play must suck to defend.

There is a reason its being ran so much by teams everywhere.

Then why did everyone complain about them last year?

I think they suck, but with NeckBeard, we may have no choice.

Using a screen play out of a passing formation 40 times a game to set up the run is hardly getting after teams.

at 40 times a game. Until you make sense and give me a real number how can you expect me to make a counter on how many screens I think would be too many.

damn right. i am so glad to be rid of the finesse style of play we have had for years. time to get back to knocking dudes through the turf. i miss seeing us pound the rock all day while a defense is huffing and puffing only for us to run the ball again breaking the spirit of the opposition. and on defense i want to see us making life miserable for position players. i want Palmer getting happy feet because he is worried Doom is going to break through and rip his head off, i want the receivers scared to run down the field because Dawkins is going to crack some skulls.

let's see some power and aggression.

Also once the ball is in a wr/rb/te hands you most certainly can get after people. You see a lot of big collision blocks on those plays.

If we do it 40 times a game then I'm with you the coach has lost his mind.

I'm guessing we run a couple different screens.

maybe a couple to the weakside flat, maybe one or 2 to the strongside flat. Maybe a couple to the RBs.

So I would say at most you see 6 screens. No biggie IMO. They are only used to make the CBS cheat forward on the snap. You want them thinking screen, then wham Marshall is flying by them.

Well sort of, but really they are used to take advantage of cbs that can't tackle that well.

If you can get the ball to Marshall, and he has a blocker or 2, and only a CB to stiff arm, you could actually get some good yrds out of those.

Holy crap... I'm going to rep footsteps. Must be some sort of astrological event going on.

Someone posted a stat about our front seven already being considerably bigger across the board. That, and the addition of a guy like Dawkins tells me that we are indeed headed in that direction... thankfully.
