David Haugh: Cutler shows maturity in not rising to bait
Back in football mode after a few days on assignment, I know Jay Cutler did the right thing in taking the Mile High road to Denver for Sunday night's game when so many people were wondering if his internal GPS would allow it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ |

The problem with Cutler is he's a hissyfitter, and usually, hissyfitters can't control themselves for very long.
All it's really going to take for him to lose it is for things to not go his way, which in football will happen quite often. |

Actually, there's a chance - albeit a very small chance - that Cutler has wised up a little here. Rather than crow about the move, he seems a little bit humble and chastened.
Now even if its all an act, he's still smart enough to know how he should be appearing - something Marshall doesn't seem to have mastered. Its entirely possible however that he is actually questioning himself and thinking that he may have been a little rash or petulant in forcing a trade. If that's the case, the whole experience may have helped him grow up - albeit at our expense..... |
