Default Anyone remember what happened to Keyshawn?

I know some of you are too young to remember what happened between Keyshawn and the Buc's new HC Jon Gruden.

Keyshawn acted like a punk, was deactivated for 7 games at the end of the year and went to another team and lead them in receiving yards and TD's.

This is from his Wiki page:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Johnson was traded on April 12, 2000 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for two first round draft choices (12th - Shaun Ellis - and 27th - Anthony Becht - overall) in the 2000 NFL Draft.[2] Soon after Johnson arrived in Tampa Bay, they signed him to a 8-year, $56 million contract extension with the Buccaneers that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.[3] At that time, he was joining a team that fell one game short of the Super Bowl the previous season. However, in 2002 Johnson went on to win a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers after the arrival of new head coach Jon Gruden, who had succeeded Tony Dungy. However, his bitter relationship with Gruden led to his de-activation of the final 7 games of the 2003 season. It led to his eventual trade to the Dallas Cowboys the following off-season where he would be reunited with Bill Parcells, his coach while he was with the New York Jets.

[edit] Dallas Cowboys
The team traded him on March 19, 2004 to the Dallas Cowboys for Joey Galloway, who the Cowboys had also traded two first round picks to acquire. Reunited with his former coach Bill Parcells, Johnson lived up to his advance billing for the Cowboys in 2004, leading the team in receiving yards and tying for the lead in touchdown catches while taking over a leadership role in the locker room and on the field.

Johnson was released by the Dallas Cowboys on March 14, 2006, presumably to make room for the recently released former Eagle Terrell Owens.

[edit] Carolina Panthers
On March 23, 2006, Johnson signed a four-year, $14-million-dollar deal with the Carolina Panthers. Of this, he was guaranteed a five million dollar signing bonus. He was expected to play opposite Steve Smith as the number two receiver.

During the Carolina Panthers' Monday Night Football game against the Buccaneers on November 13, 2006, Johnson became the first player in NFL history to score a touchdown on MNF with four different teams (Jets, Buccaneers, Cowboys and Panthers).

Johnson was fined $5,000 in Dec of 2006 for throwing his helmet in rage during a 27-24 loss to the Eagles.

Johnson was released from the Panthers on May 1, 2007 after just one season with the team. He posted 70 receptions for 815 yards and four touchdowns in Carolina.

Ironically, his release from the Panthers came just three days after he suggested, when working as an analyst for ESPN at the 2007 NFL Draft, that the Panthers should draft a young wide receiver, which they did with the selection of Dwayne Jarrett. Johnson said on air that he was "excited to work with the young (Jarrett)."

Personally I think the Broncos HC needs to see if Marshall is willing to clear the slate and start over and put this behind him, or sit/trade/cut him.

Despite the fact that Marshall has (and could again) beat women he is a great WR that can help this team win. Everyone here calling him out now would be jumping on his jock for joy should he shape up and start contribuiting to the team.

Keyshawn never contributed anything of worth to the Cowboys. I lived in Dallas during his tenure... he managed to stay quiet (at least), but he was hardly a huge star for the Cowboys.

Marshall is going to go on and be a good player for another team. He might even be on a very good team, but he'll also serve as a weight on any team that he plays for. His mental make-up just guarantees that.

He's not what the Broncos are about. He's dead-weight. He's a petulant child. No amount of talent makes up for that (see: 1 playoff win in 10 years).

So, does this mean we're gonna trade him straight up for Boldin or something?

You know if he was as bad as they claim he is to chicks there would be pictures of how bad he beat her or hit her. Even the slap chop guy had pictures of him and his hooker after their fight.

I'm not saying he is a cool and calm guy but till there is pictures of the aftermath of a "fight" that he got into with a chick I'm going to take the claims that he beats chicks with a grain of salt.

Here we go again. So no person anywhere on Earth has ever slapped someone without going through the judicial system and being found guilty of it?

I guess Marshall completed anger management counseling back in 2007 completely voluntarily and not because he ever hit anyone?

People will root for their team, but I'd imagine most people will retain a love-hate relationship with him, at best.

i'd jump all over that deal, and then give Boldin a new contract as a slap in the face of Marshall.

of course i would gladly take Breaston for Marshall

Well if a DA would bring any evidence from something that didn't even involve this case he should be fired. I still am wondering why pics haven't been leaked.

I can't believe how literal and how black and white everything is to you. You must just be looking to argue. No other explanation makes sense.

To answer your common sense question: you have to look at the entire picture. With my absence of a prior record, no, you'd probably believe the court and me because there's no reason not to.

But if 2 other people had claimed the same thing in the past in similar detail and I had a mile long rap sheet of prior "encounters" with law enforcement, I'd kind of lose a little credibility and my side of things would probably not look too convincing.
