Cutler sub forum Good or Bad idea?

This was spawned from another thread but was asked to start a poll.

With 19 games left this season there are certainly going to be a few hundred Jay Cutler threads;

The Omane community has seemed to divide itself into two camps. There are those who chime in "Let it go" with almost every Jay Cutler thread. Then there are those who can't get enough of discussing Jay Cutler.

Personally it really doesn't make any difference to me but thought I'd float it out there to see how the community feels about it.

I just thought I'd take advantage of your own deprication. It's not a horrible idea, but I'd prefer to screen what I read and talk about myself without having another forum. I avoid most of the Cutler threads, at least once they devolve, but some of them I find to my liking.

I think we should have a poll for the biggest Jay nut swinger and the winner can be flown to Chicago with a set of kneepads to give Jay a BJ.

Right track, wrong idea. We should make a thread similar to the one in the horses butt where all the pictures of the girls are. We could put all pictures of Cutler so people could look at them before they go to bed.

I am hoping all Cutler threads or Orton vs Cutler threads die a fast death.

We have the players that we will have for the rest of the year.

Cutler died for me on Friday night at kick off.

This subject will be part of Broncos talk for a long, long time...even after both Cutler and Orton are retired.

It is and will be significant to the state of the franchise for a long time because it coincides with the end of the Shanahan era as well.

If ou appreciate the history of the franchise, then you appreciate the significance of these events. You may not like the events or the players involved, but you have to appreciate the subject in light of the past and future of the franchise.

We still talk about Bronco players that haven't been here for 10+ years. Why should we never mention one that just left last season? I think it's a horribly stupid idea. A "slippery slope" idea, even.

Listo did you read the poll options? We're talking one link that is a redirect to a Cutler forum. No where does the poll suggest banning Cutler topics. That would certainly be a horrible idea.

Blue- If there was a cutler forum you'd think people would start the threads there. Ex. Me and some of the fellas regularly discuss fishing/hunting. We go to the "Other sports forum" and talk about it there and that way 8,000 people don't have to read about fishing. Blue ya know I love you but I think you mods are burning out and need a break. I think the mod team in general could use some new blood to change the vibe of the mane.

Another example of a sub forum working is the Tailgate Forum. Remember the guy that started that?

At any given time we've had 3-4 Cutler threads on the main page. If those were in their own forum there would be room for 3-4 Bronco related threads. That's all I'm saying.

So why exactly would we need a Cutler forum then? I read your entire post and I can see where this is going. Look at the bolded part of your very next comment. When does that mentality come into play and how far does it go? When do the mods start moving threads? I would guess when the sandy mangina's on this site cry enough.

It's simply a tool for messageboards to keep similar topics organized.

To answer your question about where you draw the line. When the topic is about Bears QB Jay Cutler. It would go in the Jay Cutler forum.

...and that's why it's a horrible idea. Because Jay Cutler is also ex-Bronco Jay Cutler and what you are proposing is limiting discussion about a topic that several people on the site wish to discuss.

Did you somehow miss the fact that I voted in your poll? Be that as it may, do you really think the majority is always correct? Sounds kind of collectivist.

For anyone voting yes try this: If you don't like the subject matter of a thread...don't click on it. Take some responsibility for your choices and actions. Stop crying and expecting the world to be made over into your personal playground. Grow up.

It's a good idea, but I would make it about discussion of all ex-players or something like that (and put in like parenthesis e.g. talk about Jay here or any other ex bronco of your choosing). And put it on the list underneath the main forum so people can choose either forum to enter. Either that or archive as many of the old threads to the butt or something, so the preponderance of discussion isn't on this. I mean it is going to impact our season so I get why people want to keep stuff in the main forum, but the # of threads is a bit much...it would be better if people would use current threads instead of creating new ones all the time

Plus the majority of Cutler topics are filled with those saying "get over it" or "jeez another Cutler thread?" I think it would eliminate a lot of arguing and b****ing.

Things are going SO great the way they are, it would be foolish of OM to at least try it. :rolleyes:

Listo here is my final answer. This is a discussion to see where the 8,000 registered members of this community feel about a particular subject. There is no right or wrong just opinions and everyone gets a vote. I'm sorry if that bothers you. Is your vote somehow more important than the next guys?

Anyway...This thread wasn't intended to become controversial. It was an attempt to find some common ground with a few thousand people or at least with those who took 5 seconds to click an opinion.

Besides it's just a poll. Any decision is always made by TJ anyway.
