If Oton is the starter yes. More than the interceptions what worries me most about Orton is that we will be basically limited to chekdowns. If I am defending Broncos, I would ignore the deep ball, put 8 in the box, play bump and beat the crap out of Eddie everytime he catches the ball because IMO, he is the only real threat in pass game. I will leave the flat open and once in a while take a chance and jump the route. When we play Bal and Pit back to back, I think it is going to be ugly.

People who mock arm strength of QBs should look at the 1st interception. With someone like Brett or 'you know who', the ball gets there before the interception. In fact I believe 'You know' pulled off similar play last year against Atl.

On the positive our OL is still awesome, Hillis looks good and secondary is better at tackling.

Yes, Teams will stack the box the entire year.

What is so pathetic...are those posters who have been trying to argue that Orton is a Better QB then Cutler.

Give me a ****ing break!

Griese is better than Orton.

Here we go again...dink and dunk.....yeah.....that Cutler sure is a punk!

What's pathetic is that you fail to realize that McD has an ultra secret revolutionary offensive scheme that is going to make Kyle Orton better than Montana and Brady combined..... and our offense is going to so friggin good that the 2007 Patriots will seem like the Lions in coma....

9 in the box? With a spread formation? Dumb.

It's funny that you saw 8 and 9 in the box against our spread formation, because I didn't. Did you watch the game?

In Shotgun spread, the D played off, with two deep safeties. Big running lanes. In spread, the D came up, but still had two deep safeties. Only against the power I formations did they load up the box. And that is NOT our "base formation".

No team in their right mind plays the run against a spread shotgun. I don't care who's at QB. If you see 8 in the box, it's because they're blitzing the QB, which SF very clearly did not do.

The running game was just fine. In fact, the passing game was impressive too, minus the 3 picks. Solid TOP, solid yardage. Get rid of the turnovers, and we're looking solid.

You're very right and that's my point... That's something SF didn't do, because all they did was play their base package... and picked off our first team 3/3 possessions.
