denverbroncos: Moreno impressive so far in RB drills and against front 7. He's playing 3rd behind Jordan and Buckhalter. denverbroncos: Rookie DE Rulon Davis back practicing, but he's needed plenty of attention from trainers. denverbroncos: Team kicks off 11-on-11 with Eye of the Tiger blaring. Orton complete to Gaffney on first play.about 2 hours ago from UberTwitter denverbroncos: Orton and Stokley connecting very well today on deep ball. 3 catches and counting...about 2 hours ago from UberTwitter denverbroncos: Champ just intercepts Simms.about 1 hour ago from UberTwitter denverbroncos: Champ picks off Orton very deep, intended for Royal. Related: Champ is very good.about 1 hour ago from UberTwitter denverbroncos: Hillis lone running back with first team offense in 2 minute drill.about 1 hour ago from UberTwitter ------------ from pratama: Just got back from Dove Valley Here are some of my notes: 1) Moreno got a lot of reps, it looks like he is going to play catch up. In 1 on 1's he got the better of DJ 3 times. First, a nice juke move left DJ grasping for air. The second time, he lowered his shoulder and stood DJ up. The third time he got around him too. In 7 on 7's he made a nice read, one cut and broke away, for what would have been a HUGE gain if not a TD. There is a lot to be excited about with this kid. 2) Orton look really sharp today. His short to mid range passes were crisp and on time. He hit several long balls one in which the ball travelled 45+ through the air to Stokely down the middle. Orton took most of the reps. All 3 QB's showed their arm strength in a drill where they were standing at the 50throwing bombs into the endzone. 3) Rulon Davis was back. The dude is big and very fast. 4) In the goal line situations, Orton again showcased good decision making - I didnt keep count, but he probably threw 5 or 6 TD's. 5) With Dawkins out, Bruton took the majority of snaps at SS. He seems to know what he is doing. 6) The receivers looked very good -- Royal, Stokely, Shelton, Lloyd, Gaffney all made some good plays. 7) The D was definitely busting its butt. They were getting good push on the line. Champ had a couple of picks (his closing speed is amazing) one on Simms and one on Orton. In both cases it was more Champ getting a good read and making a good play than it was the throw. Phonze had a pick on Chris Simms. 8) It looks like Simms is still struggling. He had several picks, overthrew his receivers over and over. He even fumbled a snap (which he and the center had to run a lap for). |
