Couldn't possibly be real. If he was off an inch he'd be toast.

Does anyone care to present a theory as to exactly how this could have been faked?

There's a section where we can't see the guy. That's your first clue. The next clue is just to watch his trajectory. He almost rises up part way through his "flight." There's an unnatural bump upward about half way through. I'm guess guessing here, but he would have landed much earlier if this were real.
Then there's the "how do you practice this" question. Entertaining, but definitely trickery. |

The slope of the slide on the front side doesn't look nearly steep enough to even come close to generating the kind of speed it would take to generate enough lift to achieve that distance.

Oh yea, and someone pointed out... there's a dummy laying behind the ramp at .08.
They might have moved that, for all the work they did. |

I'm guessing they had a guy in the pool and just kept firing dummies until one of them hit the water.

Yup, the first thing I thought was after watching him slide down the hill that he was moving way too slow to be thrown off the ramp at that speed. 2 guys throw a bucket of water each and that was it. For that much material, you would have to have a constant stream of water. Way too much friction for that guy to build that kinda of speed at the ramp.

Its just a simple video edit, on a straight gray sky its not very hard.
Nothing actually landed in the pool from that distance, the pool is an inflatable kiddie pool and it didn't even wiggle after contact. That denies all laws of matter displacement. Congrats to them, they successfully pirated 3D Studio Max or Maya and learned to use it with some marginal proficiency. Probably grabbed Final Cut Pro while they where at it. |
