Marshall, Moss, Dawkins, Stokley miss Broncos' practice - The Orange Mane

A fourth day of Broncos practice at training camp delivered a cache of significant players unable to participate. Not out at this morning's practice were Jarvis Moss, Brandon Marshall, Brian Dawkins, Brandon Stokley, Wesley Woodyard and Correll Buckhalter.

Moss, the Broncos' first-round draft pick in 2007, is contemplating his future. He was excused by coach Josh McDaniels to take a few days to think about whether he wants to continue playing. Broncos defensive lineman Marcus Thomas said Sunday that Moss had told him he would return today. The Broncos have another practice this afternoon.

Marshall limped off the field during the Sunday morning practice. He did not practice Sunday afternoon or this morning. McDaniels will be asked to address the absences of Dawkins, Stokley, Woodyard and Buckhalter after the morning workout.

Meanwhile, reserve linebacker Nick Greisen became the second player to need serious medical attention. He went down on the last rep in a linebacker-vs-running back drill. Trainers tended to his left leg, and Greisen was pointing to and rubbing a spot on his left knee before he was driven off the field on a cart.

The Denver Post reports Denver Broncos LB Nick Greisen (knee) appeared to have injured his left knee during practice and had to be carted off the field following a linebacker-running back drill.

He has made several spectacular plays at camp so far, showing no ill effects from offseason hip surgery. Marshall is coming off his second straight 100-catch season.

"If I had a team, I would definitely want him on it," Broncos cornerback Andre' Goodman said. "He's a big guy that runs great routes. He's a competitor — any team wants a receiver like that. We want him healthy."

While Brandon Marshall misses another Broncos practice Monday, the receiver may be slowly realizing that Denver is the only place he'll practice this season.

Any chance Marshall had to go to Baltimore is out now that Derrick Mason has returned to the team.

"Our interest in Brandon Marshall is between slim and none, and slim just walked out on the field," one source told the Baltimore Sun, pointing to Mason.

While Marshall still wants to go elsewhere, the Broncos don't appear to share his interests. Even if they did, other teams don't look likely to pay the going rate of a high draft pick and big contract.

The Broncos also have plenty to worry about with the players who presumably want to be on the team.

Linebacker Nick Greisen was carted off the field Monday with an apparent knee injury.

They are also still working on contracts for first-round picks Robert Ayers and Knowshon Moreno, with Ayers' deal close to agreement.

your thread title is bad dude. You mention Moss isn't at practice but leave off notice that Woodyard wasn't there as well? no one cares if Moss is there or not, we all care iabout Woodyard

I could care less who misses a practice here and there. If somebody is gone for a week, then we should be concerned. All of this OMG stuff for missing a single practice is funny.

Hope this isn't serious. He's been a productive special teams player, and might end up being nice depth at LB. He's played in Nolan's system, as I recall.

Hope it's minor.
