Like, have it be infected with spyware / viruses and incessantly blink error messages and be totally useless in 2 years? Ah well, then get a PC

PC buyers are suckers

My friend just took AVG off my laptop and put in Avast. He was the geek squad leader at best buy in Lincoln. He says its better. AVG is good though.

BTW: recent security industry reports show that malware is on the increase for Macs, too, including a new bug that can determine for itself if it's attacking a PC or Mac system and then launch the appropriate version of its payload. Don't be too smug, Mac users: many of you will probably be *more* vulnerable to these for some time until it sinks in that your ivory tower has cracked.

Nope. Have used both PC's and Mac's for years (PC mainly at work and Mac at home). Mac is by far and away my pick for best computer available on the market (especially for personal use). It can do anything I need to do on my work computer and it's simplicity of design, reliability, and power beats any PC I've ever used - and I've used a lot of powerful PC's.

PC's, and windows in particular, are total crap.

I will let you know once that happens. 5 years of use, and not a single malware or virus issue. I guess it helps that macs automatically update themselves whenever a potential security issue is found in the market. I suppose PC's can do that to but then your issue is: who is updating my security? The maker (Dell, HP, IBM, etc.)? The security system (McAfee, Norton, etc.)? Or do I need to download some patch from some mysterious Windows site? Or do they all need to work together? Or do I need to call customer support? Meanwhile, whatever virus or malware is attacking your computer has already rendered it useless, usually meaning you have to take it to Geeksquad to get ripped off by Best Buy.

Again, not a worry with a Mac. I will never go back to PC
