Historically, we usually get the first rounders done a day or two before camp. This means it could take a few days. Of course the report times are earlier this year so...

And Alphonso is a stud. He was my favorite corner in the draft. I think he'll be a fan favorite for years here.

Ayers and KnoMo strike me as guys that aren't going to cause any problems for us. Ayers is humble, and Moreno is so passionate for the game that he's not going to want to be holding out while camp is going on.

And yeah, I'm expecting/hoping for big things from Alphonso as well. He's a playmaker.

When the Broncos traded the 2010 first-round pick they acquired from Chicago as part of the Jay Cutler deal in order to snag cornerback Alphonso Smith with the fifth overall pick in round two of the 2009 draft, the Broncos necessarily put themselves in position to get a player for less money than a first-round pick costs.

Then again, they had to pay out that money one year sooner than they otherwise would have.

Per a league source, the initial check to Smith will be made out for "Two million one hundred fifty thousand and 00/100 dollars." (Actually, it will be a lot less than that, thanks to Uncle Sam and the state of Colorado.)

Smith also will earn the minimum base salaries on his four-year deal, and he's eligible for a one-time playing-time incentive of $750,000, which is guaranteed for injury.

Smith also can earn a $50,000 workout bonus in 2011, and a $130,000 workout bonus on 2012. Finally, he'll get an extra $100,000 if he's the 2009 defensive rookie of the year.

I actually more excited about Smith's ability going in then DWilliams ability going in. He is a great player and solid person don't blame him because it's not his fault we traded our #1 for him it was the FO.

thank you ....I am still a little pissed about this pick...hope he is great all the same I want that with all the young guys but man we gave up the house for him .

I Like Ayers highlights way better ....

Gotta be honest, those highlite videos weren't overly impressive in my opinion.

I do like the kid and hope he does well though.

Plenty of smaller corner have succeeded. He reminds me a lot of antione winfield. if he becomes that, i dont see how anyone can complain
