Default Private Poll - What do you think of Obama so far

Ok, poll is up. It's private, so you can answer honestly. A little OM job rating approval poll.

We must have some people who got some of that bailout money posting in here to honestly vote to being happy right now. Stimulus didn't do what they said and want to do another one. Healthcare plan as is is a disaster waiting to happen. The president forgetting the rule of law of innocence until proven guilty applies to the police too. Obama and his supporters are clueless.

Payroll tax reduction. You should have about $20 extra in every paycheck since April.

Unless you're self-employed or work for a small business, then you'll see it as a lump sum at tax time.

so you support him talking tough on Israel but doing nothing about it? I think giving the speech in Egypt is a big mistake if he doesn't actually do something about the situation for the Palestinians. Israel refused him but the checks from America keep flowing.

Can Obama get away with just talk to the Arabs like he can you?

I am in Afghanistan near the border of Pakistan. I am dealing with a steady diet of C rations, steel rain and waiting. There are lines for everything. It's like a nightmare version of Disneyland some of these place. All you have is comfort food, souvenirs, and shops selling trash. You cannot find tools anywhere or things you can use.

Iraq is an R&R destination compared to this goat hole. Ah! The life of an immoral bastard child of war.

If I may say, at times you have a bad habit of greatly over simplyfing things, when it comes to the Palestine/Israel conflict it gets noticbly worse.

At one point in time, it was Netanyahu's stated position that he was against the right of a Palestinian state to even exist. And he also called any U.S. attempts at peace a ''waste of time''. He is very far to the Right, and used to be a fringer that would make Cheney look like a moderate.

Getting him to acknowledge that a.) the Palestinian people have a right to a Palestinian state and b.) that he's willing participate in peace talks was a big deal, even if it came with conditions that we object to.

Well, it's even more than a big deal. W/out it, there would be no way forward. With it, you have a groundwork to begin discussions.

I was reading one expert's opinion (I think Juan Cole, but I don't remember for sure) who made a compelling argument that the next step should be an ''economic peace'' between Israel, Palestine, and the U.S., and to take a step back from political and diplomatic issues that cause the horror we see. I think this would be a compelling approach. This is an area that at least Netanyahu is on record in the past as saying he would support.

You seem to think this biggest conflict of our lifetime should be able to be completely solved in 6 months. Which is why you're sometimes retarded. You have no substance. How long as this been going on for? We had to start from scratch 6 months ago and this is p'bly going to take the full 8 years to have a viable 2 state framework agreed upon and begun to be implemented. A step forward is a step forward, not a step backward, even if that step doesn't take you to the finish line.

So far, it would seem that those that voted for him, have gotten much what they feel they voted for, and those that didn't vote for him, have gotten much of what they feared, or didn't want their president to do.

I know that is over simplifying, but I mean there are very few I voted for him and am unhappy, or I didn't vote for him an am happy votes.
