In an ongoing effort to improve our reporting quality, I wanted this thread to be about what we can do to make the camp reports this year better. All suggestions are welcome and we'll pick the most requested ones (that are doable). So let her rip! Don't be shy! what would you like to see more of? What could you do without? What is something new you'd like to see? What annoys you? What arouses you?

If you can, can you draw quick pictures of how the defenses are lined up?

Nothing big, but maybe you could just sneak a GPS transmitter onto each player's jersey, then we could reconstruct all their movements and analyze the scheme and each player.

Positional focus is always great. The mainstream media doesn't do so much of that.
Details about coaching styles on both sides of the ball will also be interesting. (How much are we lining up in a 3-4 v. 4-3., etc.) Some tweet-style play by play reporting would have been cool, even though not allowed. (Twitter.) Maybe something like that reported after the fact. Reports on bubble guys (maybe with more focus) like Moss, Crowder, Powell, and the UDFAs from this year. Anyone standing out, etc? The reporting is always good. I'm sure it will be again this year. Glad you're one of the guys doing it, Kaylore. |

It would be interesting to know if and how the current defensive position coaches differ from previous regime.

I would love to get a report like an "In" vs. "Out" on the guys competing for roster spots....namely Moss, Crowder, etc...
I think that could lead to good discussion Also, I want to have a "WWCD" report on each day...where you break down Orton's throws and then have a paragraph on "What Would Cutler Do" |

Since both the OFF and DEF will be different systems than we are use to I do think alignment and who is playing where would be beneficial.
Also, there will be huge position battles especially at DL, RB, CB. So, positional focus would be awesome as well. |

Your reports are great. Don't get sidetracked with photos, twitter and other nonsense. Give us the red meat analysis!

A couple things I'm curious about: Is Marcus Thomas lining up at DE at all? Where is WWIII lining up? Josh Bell or JMFW for the 4th CB? Most importantly, anything and everything you see happening at OLB!

I'm especially interested in the running backs and front 7 on defense. The mainstream media will already have Orton under the microscope.

X's and O's diagrams would be awesome. But I agree with the poster who said don't get caught up in pictures and twitter. Pictures don't mean much w/o red meat analysis.

One of the main reasons I first stuck around this place was because of the camp reports, I am very jealous and appreciative of those who provide the reports. A few quick suggestions: 1. Can you take pics, or do the Broncos allow that? If so, does your camera do a little... er, video? 2. Since they are so important to this year's team, a part of the report called "rookie watch" might be good. There are the obvious guys we will watch like Moreno and Ayers, but guys like Rulon Davis, Pedescleaux, Chris Baker, and Lee Robinson are interesting by-lines. Otherwise, do 'yo thang - the reports are always great. |

You know, Peter King's "Ten things I think I think" would sure make writing a column a lot easier. It's a whole lot easier writing blurbs like that - then expounding if someone asked about them - than it is trying to write solid paragraphs.

The defensive front, who gets reps, how are they doing, how much 4-3 do we play and how much 5-2?
Secondary, especially the safeties, who is getting reps in which situations. I agree with Popps that hearing about some of the young guys we don't know much about would be good, Moss, Crowder, Thomas, Powell, Torain, JMFW, Larsen. Who is getting reps at RB and where are they playing Hillis? It is so hard to evaluate QBs and WRs in camp, so I would be all right with hearing less about them. I would like to hear about the coaches, most are new, how are they doing, are they in control, are the players responding, what kind of style do they have. This would be interesting if someone who has been to camp before could maybe compare a bit between the new regime and old the one in terms of coaching and style and drills. |
