Looks like everyone voted "more of the same" with either candidate. Weird.

I'm also shocked that Obama has not lived up to the shining example of transparency set by Bush and Cheney.

It sure is funny how people jerk their knee right into a Bush comparison when Obama's caught in this kind of stuff. All the while, folks were here telling us just how different he'd be--honest, transparent, motivated by altruism alone, etc.
Many here seem unwilling to defend what they voted for in November, except by telling us just how bad we had it before November again and again. I suspect that Kyle Orton will be pointing back to Jay Cutler and justifying his own lame performance by telling us what a failure Cutler was and these people will be hanging him by a flagpole, not shaking their heads in agreement. |

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/op...-50260677.html Please note this is on the opinion page as a blog...fact? maybe some of it, but I would put as much credit in this guy's opinion as I do in any other political satirist (say Jon Stewart), he may have valid points, but at the root it is based on opinion and the need to frame it for his audience. By all accounts the Washington Examiner is a pretty conservative publication, so naturally it's material will be skewed that way. Though again, you sell to your audience, liberal or conservative, there's papers to back any opinion you want, facts on the other hand are a much rarer animal to find anywhere these days. Having said that though, I would be disappointed if Obama is doing underhanded things, but not really surprised, given the nature of politicians. Nor do I expect complete transparency with any President. It isn't possible given national security issues on some things and sometimes what appears to be deliberate malfeasence (spelling?) is all in the eye of the interpreter. Obama has a thing for appointing czars. What is it, over 30 now? That's far more than any president and Obama is just starting.

Obama claimed he'd have the most transparent administration in history, just like Clinton claimed he'd have the most ethical (cough, cough) administration in history.
Clinton also claimed he'd have a cabinet that "looks like America" and wound up with a cabinet that looked like the Knesset. Bush gave us the first TWO African-American Secretaries of State and the first Hispanic Attorney General and would have put the first Hispanic on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals but the Democrats filibustered him. |

Finally....the OP states: So much for the most transparent adminstration ever. The douchebags this president has assembled to lead is like a who's who of sneaks and serpents. Read it all, and then weep. Only a fool would make the broad brush comparison that Obama is personally negilgent or somehow responsible for the actions of this particular individual, let alone that it's indicative of his entire government as the "who's who of sneaks and serpents" comment reads. The true test of this adminstration's ethics will be whether they deal appropriately with those caught violating the ethical canons. Most people understand that...some want to pretend they don't. Very few are dumb enough to really believe nonsense like this. |
