Default My Favorite Broncos Hit of all time!!!

is finally available on You Tube. It's the first play of this clip, Dennis Smith just destroys Randall Morris.

The whole game is available on You Tube. This game was one of the best regular season games in Broncos history, check it out and enjoy it.

Too bad you can't find his best hit. Even better then that one.

Can't remember game. It was in Mile High, Vs the Chargers, prob within a few yrs either way of this game.

Nate Lewis was going down the sideline for a deep pass. Smith hit him so hard he was out cold. Full on helmet to face mask type hit.

Find that hit on youtube and I would give you 50 bucks.

But yeah Smith so underrated. Hard to believe in college it was Dennis Smith, Ronnie Lott, Joey Browner all in the same secondary.

I know all of DS49's hits and that Nate Lewis is one of his 100+ classics, but that is a more common typoe devastation. The ball was floated along the sideline and Dennis timed it perfectly.

This hit is just something else to me. Unlike Christian Okoye who is running at half step speed and takes a little hop step before Atwater's impact, Randall Morris had 220 pounds in full Off Tackle stride, FULL SPEED, and gets knocked backwards. It's the only hit I know of that I've ever seen where a RB is running full speed in open space and still legitiomately gets knocked backwards.

My favorite hit of all time. To each their own I guess.

If I am not mistaken Jeff Fisher was also part of that secondary.

I liked how after the Lewis hit he like made a fist pump to the crowd, and in the background you see Lewis knocked cold. From what I remember his face mask was broke and he had some bleeding on the bridge of his nose.

The hit you showed would actually still be legal. The one on Lewis, lets just say he would have been fined big time lol.

NFL was more more brutal in the early 80's then the players now could even fathom. Hell Dlineman got to hit QB way after he threw ball in the old days.

I think you are right. Fisher and Lott at corner, Browner and Smith at safety.

It's safe to say that was a pretty good secondary.

Dennis Smith on Colts 250 lb. bruiser Roosevelt Potts in a 1993 Denver home game is another one of 49's best hits.

Mine was by Karl Mecklenburg, against the Raiders, when Marcus Allen is catching a swing pass, and Karl sends him into New Mexico. I do not know how to find that clip, but it was great.....

The memories, let's hope we can get some more soon...

Atwater's blitz/hit on Favre forcing the fumble in SBXXXII was awesome and this shot where he knocked everyone out including himself ranks as a favorite.

Easily my favorite, but partly because Atwater was/is my all-time favorite Bronco.

Potts jumped up right away to show he wasn't fazed, took 2 steps and then immediately collapsed back onto the turf. Been looking for it, but with no success.
