Odds to win the AFCW:
SD -900 Denver +700 KC +1000 Oak +1000 Even if you are not a gambler....Let's assume someone handed you a crisp benji with the understanding that you must make a bet. Who are you taking? Risk 100 on SD to make 11? Risk 100 on Denver to make 700 Risk 100 on Oak or KC to make 1,000 There's a pretty big contingent around here that thinks Denver maxes out between 6-8 wins.....That's an easy $11 profit on SD right? |

With all the new faces on defense and the new system both, I think I'd drop us even with Okaland ... KC slightly below that.

SD is the obvious safe bet. A free-bee 11 dollars.
Kansas City is an interesting 'X' factor. A thousand bucks if you're right. I know people here have a 'thing' about the Chiefs, maybe because of that 'Bob' guy, but there are some interesting possibilities there depending on the real-world abilities of Todd Haley. |

We were given one fame last year, so really won only 7. I would have guessed this team somewhere close to that even without any changes, given how poorly our defense played. With all of the turnover, it's a total wildcard, but probably something similar. 7:1 odds aren't bad for a fun homer bet, though. Might plop down a few bucks.

I wouldn't take any of those bets. First, why tie up $100 of your stake for an entire season just to win $11? KC and Oakland have no chance at the division. The Broncos may surprise people, but I doubt we beat out SD for the division. 7 to 1 is not enough of a payoff for such an unlikely outcome. If Denver was 10 to 1, I'd consider it. KC and OAK should be more like 15 to 1.
