Default The Brandon Marshall jersey

Another tainted talent
I miss those days when a guy put on a uniform and did everything they could to help their team win. Call me old fashioned, but there is something incredible about watching, say, the movie “Miracle”, a story based on the 1980 USA Hockey team putting their differences aside to upset the Soviets and win a gold medal. Even watching LeBron James on 60 minutes last night, reminded me of the selfish exploits of Brandon Marshall. LeBron said his whole focus is about team. Making everyone around him better and striving for the one goal he wants most, an NBA title. I only wish Brandon Marshall was more like that.

Marshall is a tough case, because he's got sort of an outward-going personality that makes you want to like him. But, he's just gotten himself into so much crap, and now this untimely raise-request just isn't sitting well with most fans, I'd guess.

He's just got a standard case of Wide Receiveritus.

My pops was talking to his orthopedic surgeon the other day about BMarsh. The Dr. said that the hip surgery Marshall had usually takes a full year to fully recover from.

I'm wondering if BMarsh's staying away from Dove Valley has something to do with not wanting to get a physical that may ultimately end up lowering his trade value this year.

Anyway, the Doctor said he'd be suprised if Marshall was ready for training camp by the end of July and that he wouldn't be suprised at all if Marshall wasn't 100% by the start of the season. Whether this Dr. knows whats up or not is hard to say, but I have to wonder how much the hip surgery is influencing Brandon and his agent's decisions.... but either way, I don't see how it helps OUR team out.

Background: Injuries to the hip account for approximately 10% of all injuries in football, but definitive diagnosis is often challenging. Although these injuries are often uncomplicated contusions or strains, intra-articular lesions are increasingly found to be sources of hip pain.
Conclusion: Hip injuries represent a small but substantial percentage of injuries that occur in the NFL. A majority of these injuries are minor, with a return to play within 2 weeks. Intra-articular injuries are more serious and result in a significant loss of playing time. The “sports hip triad” (labral tear, adductor strain, and rectus strain) is described as a common injury pattern in the elite athlete.

Of course, the doctor was also probably talking about the "average joe" recovery time. Most of these estimates you hear translate quite differently when you apply them to NFL players. Carson Palmer, Rodney Harrison, Tom Brady to name a few recent cases. All had surgeries that would sideline normal folks for over a year and they all came back to the field just months later.

right and what pony boy posted makes it sound like the Dr. didn't really know what he was talking about. Although the initial prognosis was BMarsh back by training camp.

Looks like I will have to come up with some new conspiracy theories. I wonder if my sister's gyno knows why BMarsh is being a douche bag?

By the way, your user name still sucks, even if BMarsh is a babyto. I think you should ask Hotrod how you change your name.

Yea, I'm sort of questioning why we're not there yet?

Are we just holding out on giving him a contract until he shows up to camp and does his job? Is this a message thing? Or, are we just not interested in taking the kind of risk a big contract would entail?

Or, is there concern over his injury?

There's a lot to think about if you're the Broncos front office, and Brandon demanding a trade just makes it worse.

give me a break on this it's all about me crap with Marshall. he is asking for a raise which he has more than earned. lots of players every season hold out or ask for more money and no one cares, Marshall does and suddenly the guy is the most terrible guy in sports.

pay him his ****ing money and end this bull****
