One day in and it's already setting records:

LOS ANGELES Those "Transformers" robots are record-breakers at the box office.

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" opened with $60.6 million domestically in its first day, a new high for a Wednesday debut, according to distributor Paramount.

The previous best Wednesday opening was $44.2 million for "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" in 2007.

The "Transformers" sequel also came in with the second-biggest single-day revenues, behind only "The Dark Knight," with $67.2 million. "The Dark Knight" opened on a Friday.

Fans stayed up into the wee hours to be the first to see the "Transformers" sequel, which took in $16 million from midnight screenings alone.

Paramount projected the movie would follow with $25 million on Thursday and climb to at least $150 million by the end of the weekend. In just five days, that would put it to nearly half the $319 million total the first "Transformers" film did during its entire run in 2007.

Some of the one-liners and storyline was pretty corny but the special effects were obviously the t*ts.

If you go into a movie called "Transformers" expecting some sort of epic storyline and no corny lines then you have a wrong idea of what this movie is supposed to be.

This isn't a shot at the poster above, but a lot of people have expectations that this is supposed to be "best picture" material.

I just saw it and I had more fun watching this movie than I've had watching something in awhile. The special effects were second to none, the comedy was there corny or not, and the storyline wasn't that bad.

I loved it.

Railgun = Deus Ex Machina much? It was almost as bad as R2D2

Robot Heaven? Really?

Gratuitous Megan Fox is hot shots. Thank you.

Still Clean mouthed Army guys. Ok.

Action? Stellar.

Fembots? Really? Somewhere Austin Powers is pissed.

Why would robots develop accents? Any why hip-hop-eese? But the jokes were funny. I didn't want to like them, but I did laugh.

Wtf took everyone so long when Optimus Prime got ganked?

All in all, I liked it. I wasn't expecting anything special but **** blowing up. If you liked the first one, this is more of the same.

I went saw it yesterday in Imax. I thought it was good, some parts were kind of sleazy. One thing I dont like is they act like all the transformers just park while they arent fighting and do nothing else. Also besides the begining alot of the autobots took a back seat to the film.Airtime Definitly went to Optimus, humans and bumblbee.Favorite part in the move was when Optimus took on 3 guys at once. The crowd did clap at the end of the movie.

The flick was badass!!!

The Good:
Fox and the other chick...WOW
The action/effects
I liked the story and the history of the Primes
The comedy during the first half

The Bad:
The twins...kinda Jar Jar Binks-ish for my taste
The comedy towards the end. As funny as this movie was as a whole, the comedy got in the way once the fighting started. Tried a bit too hard there for my liking.
The language...either make it an R film, or let me be able to take my kids to it. I don't remember any moments in the first movie where I had to wonder if it was appropriate for the little ones. Kinda disappointed in the unnecessary cursing that was meant for weak laughs.

Overall, I gave the first one a 10/10 and see it as this generation's "Independence Day". This sequel did NOT disappoint and the bulk of it was on par w/ #1. Ignoring the language (cuz it doesn't bother ME...I just won't take my kids), the poorly constructed late jokes did take a toll in my eyes. For a 2.5 hr movie, it did NOT drag on or get boring. These flicks are what they are. They will not win Oscars for Best Picture, but they are fun as hell to watch over and over. Very well done IMHO...8.5/10

Went to the IMAX this morning, thought it was right in line as the first Transformers. It did seem a bit long, but I wasn't waiting for it to end, just thought they put some stuff in that wasn't completely necessary.

I haven't decided if I liked it more than the first, but it was damn good. People just love hating on Michael Bay IMO

I went to that same IMAX, and no. It's not worth it. The screen was so big and you sit so close it was almost hard to follow the action.

I watched it Wed and LOVED it! Loved the first one, and thought this was even bettter. Everyone in the theater clapped at the end, and half were standing. Went with wife and 8 friends and everyone loved it. Only bad thing is there is a lot of cursing (pu$$y, Bi0tch etc..) so not for kids.
