Okay .... now I can offer a reward for anybody who helps.

My regular Irish Whiskey is usually $28 a fifth .... but this week I discovered there's a Jamesons gift-pack at my liquor store: The fifth of whiskey PLUS a stainless steel flask - perfect for secreting in your sock on those cold Invesco Field Sundays. The gift pack is just $26, and at a saveings of 2 bucks, needless to say I'll be stockpiling flasks these next couple months.

One of the flasks is earmarked for tailgatenut (he had Jamesons ready when I tailgated with him in '07). I'd like to give another to Hogan, but let's face it ... I need help.

So if you want a flask all for your own, give me something to cling to!
Now THAT'S a nice flask .....

I recommend attending Broncos games and looking for single ladies in the tailgate lot...

I'd also recommend finding a new hobby or activity...something different from anything you used to do with your gf. Preferably an activity where you might meet single ladies. You need to keep busy so as to minimize the effects of feeling depressed or despondent.

Maybe I'm missing the problem... you are single, educated and still relatively young... where does the problem come in?

I have no use for whiskey. So this advice has no strings attached:

1) Stop spending a lot of money;

and

2) stop drinking a lot.

If you do just those two things, I guarantee your midlife crisis will eventually pass. And when it does, you will find it was far less painful than it could have been.

Start drinking heavily... douse your blues with liquor. Just keep drinking until you can't feel anything at all, then call a relative out of the blue and vent your frustation... (ok, this never works but it is funny as hell).

Easier said than done, I know but here are a few things:

1. Start a physical activity, rec league touch football or running or go to the gym or swimming or some such. It will take your mind off things, it will burn away idle hours and it is a great way to meet people.

2. For god's sake avoid junk food. If you have to eat out, make it somewhere nicer so you have to at least make a semi-conscious effort on your appearance, but better yet, cook for yourself, make sure you eat some good food.

3. This is the biggie, use more money on clothes, grooming and personal luxuries, less money on booze, candy and porn. If you look good, people will be attracted, if people are attracted you will feel good. If you look like you care about yourself, people will notice.

In case none of that grabs you, I have a backup: find a sports bar with a friendly staff who look like the enjoy working there, people who seem to have either a life or some form of intelligence and no music. You can get a little ****faced and meet people, even womanfolk when you are ready.

Reading helped me, I have always been a drinker but I have also always known that it always made things worse. The best bet would be to figure out who you are now that you are not you and your partner. I have kind of made it a point to stay away from the girls after my last go around with the devil. I also made a huge move away from my son to be closer to my family and really start to work on myself.

I like the "realitively young" part, but somebody from SLC telling me not to drink ... well, I've heard that before.

Okay, here's another way to help:

I bought this motherboard:

Plus I bought 4 BG Ram ... twin 2GB sticks .... now:

What kinda processor should I get?

Hop a flight to San Jose Costa Rica. I know a private driver down there who drove myself and my girlfriend around CR this winter. He knows all the hot spots and will drive you anywhere you want to go for a very reasonable price. There are thousands of hot women down there waiting for an Americano to "fall in love with". Actually they just want your money but hell you are having a midlife crisis right?'

Anyway live like a pimp in San Jose for a couple days. The same driver can whisk you to Jaco. It's a party town right on the beach. **** a few more chicks there...errr I mean meet a few more chicks there then go to Manuel Antonio. Great place to unwind. From there hop a flight back to San Jose.

You won't even remember you ex's name or even care as you'll probably be in love with a hot little Costa Rican chick by day 9.

If I was a single man I would have been down there years ago.

The first advice I can give is to quit talking about how drunk you are in every other post....we get it.

There is always the guy on the Internet that has to tell you how drunk they are....if you are that drunk, we will be able to tell (see old Mock).

I'd love the flask, but I doubt this will win it for me. Anyway, here goes:

1. You're single but you appear relatively healthy, you can obviously afford to buy Jamison, a computer and an internet connection so man up. There are a hell of a lot of people worse of than you right now.

2. Don't waste your time actively seeking a new girl. Make some time for yourself. I always had an impossible time meeting women when I was on the prowl, but I found my wife when I wasn't looking and didn't expect it.

3. Do something you've always wanted to do but haven't. Go skydiving, run a marathon, take up hiking, learn how to ___________ (insert random activity here).

4. Cut back on the whiskey. Yes, you read it correctly. Chances are the booze is a contributing factor in your issues. I'm not saying go cold turkey, but don't over indulge. Drinking too much probably won't help you, and it will certainly hurt you in a variety of ways.
