Default Planning On Being In Denver.......

So, I have to head up to Auburn Wa. for business. I'm taking the family so we are going to make it a road trip. I'm planning my route to go through Denver since I've never been there. So, any ideas on some things to do or see? We will probably only have about a half day to a day to be there. Ofcourse I'm going to stop by the stadium.

We will probably be in Denver on the 2nd or 3rd of July.

Hanging out in LODO is cool, go to a Rockies game, make in the evening tho.

I've done those city tours in past two years, they are kind of cheesy but it passes the time.

There's zero point in stopping by Invesco.

Yes @ go to a Rockies game.

I disagree, Go to Invesco. Its easy to get to. Take a picture with the horses and in front of the Stadium. Then you can show people and now say you have been to the stadium of your favorite team.

But if you only have an afternoon, that's a complete waste of time.

Plan a weekend trip in the fall, go there when you know, there's a game going on. And then take a picture with the horses.

This might help .....

Denver Detail/Landmark Map:

1 - Invesco Field
2 - Pepsi Center
3 - Coors Field
4 - U.S. Mint
5 - Denver City and County Building
6 - Colorado State Capitol
7 - Cash Register Building
8 - Denver Convention Center - Democratic Convention there in 3 months
9 - CU-Denver / Metro State
11 - Elitchs' Amusement Park
Yellow Ring - Red Lion/Invesco ... Red Lion is a popular OM Weekend watering hole (or so I've been told)

That's I-25 winding north-south.

I-70 is about two miles north of the map.

F that, I'm going to stop by Invesco. This might be the only chance that I'll ever have to be out in Denver, so I'm stopping by. Esp for the kids since they are die hard Bronco fans.

And thanks for the map Buff.

I'm not sure how much we are going to have, but I'm going to take up as much as possible. Hell, I might even plan our return trip to come back through Denver.

I just wish I had more time.

Yeah I wish we were going to have time for a rockies game.

Are hotel prices pretty resonable there in Denver?

Depends where you stay really. I thought the Mariott in the Denver Tech center was nice. Good location, easy access to the freeway, light rail, etc - a bit expensive though.

Do you work there? I'll shoot you a PM and give you my details. Or I can give you a call when we plan on stopping by there.

My plan is leaving here on the 1st, and getting to Denver on the 3rd, hopefully early that day. Then we will leave on the 4th that morning. We will probably be in Montana that night on the 4th.

I stay at the Knights Inn when I go, $198.00 bucks Friday-Monday.

This year I'm switching it up, maybe the VQ or downtown.

Well slight change of plans sort of. Wife has convinced me that we should leave this Wednesday around 8p.m and I'll just end up driving straight on in to Denver. It's about 1200 miles, long but doable. That should put us there around 6 or 7 Thursday evening. This way we will get to spend that night and most of the morning in Denver, probably leaving that afternoon towards Butte Montana.

Man how I wish that training camp would have been started just before I head back home. I would stop by Dove Valley on the way back and spend the day at practice. The kids would love that.

The US Mint usually closes early in the afternoon, just an FYI if that's you're type of thing.
