Another court shoves its head firmly up its crevasse. We wonder why our courts have lost the respect of our people; It's idiotic findings like this.

What a joke, those jurors are idiots. Wonder if they've ever done that themselves.

Unreal. I'd snicker and tell them in open court they can collect from my cold dead hand.

They're just trying to set a stupid president. How an entire jury agreed to this is beyond me. Maybe it's completely made up of 70-80 year old people or people who've never been near a computer before? They should just fine her about 4x what the songs were... just say an even $100 and she's on her way.

I'm unclear on this whole deal. First, how do they nail you? If, for example, you go to a foreign site, download a song or album, and put it on your Ipod but do not share it, is this illegal? Is it traceable? Many of the foreign sites say they do pay royalties to Russian copyright firms but I haven't seen evidence of this.
It sounds like they nailed her for putting up songs to exchange with others after she downloaded them, is this correct? |

That's just an excessive abuse of power. $1.9 million for 24 songs? Wow.

If only she knew about peerguardian. The only way they catch you is if you download something from one of their traps or they download it from you. There are IP blockers that prevent you from ever connecting to known online file sharing traps.

It will probably get changed by the trial judge I heard.
Don't blame the judge blame the RIAA and the jury. |

Nexicon (nxco) - is actually the company that tracks down people who illegally pirate music. I am a proud owner of their stock...so I am very happy with this ruling!

it's important that artists get to maintain copywrite on their work.
How would you people like it if you got your work used for free? |
