after we miss the playoffs.....again

Shanny would have been gone years ago with this choice.

He'll retire in roughly 25 years, after 4 or 5 SuperBowls sprinkled over the years.

Shanny won 2 Super Bowls before he lost a ton of playoff games. (being an assistant coach/OC on the sidelines doesn't count for McDoogie)

Year 3 with a losing record, or he goes about 10 with a very good record after the first season, hard to tell. There is no way Bowlen ditches him in the first year, and I highly doubt it will be the second regardless of his record (well, we have to win at least 7 games between the two seasons). This could work out. With all the crap we have gone through so far this off season, I can't believe this Marshall scenario is setting off these kinds of fireworks. Brandon is a good player, but kinda crappy off the field. The team can do well without him. Schefflers stock just went up a notch, and this probably means even more ZBS with Moreno and Hillis. I love watching a good running game, so this doesn't bother me all that much. Cutler bothers me more, but even more than that is the continued neglect of the d-line.

He will see 3 seasons, unless he totally bombs in season 2.

I still think we should have promoted Dennison.

Huh?

Shanny coached 2 full years for Butt-pirates and actually got better in the 2nd year and then was fired.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.......Bowlen is inching ever so closely to Davis! Wait my bad, Bowlen hasn't moved the Broncos to another city under the cover of darkness!!!!

But then again the NFL is thinking about adding an NFL team in Canada possible Vacouver British Columbia. Bowlen just might consider such a move!!

Bowlen still has to pay Shanahan for 3 years.

McDaniels signed a 4-year deal.

Until Shanahan is coaching somewhere else and has his new salary offset what Bowlen owes him, Bowlen will not even think about firing McDaniels. He's not going to be paying 3 head coaches at the same time.

Deal with it people. You can b**** all you want, but on-field decisions and player personnel matters are not going to dictate how long he's the coach right now. Bowlen's checkbook will dictate who is the HC for the foreseeable future.
