Probably never saw it coming when he got stabbed the first time.

More to the point, how does a crazed canibal go berzerk on a Greyhound bus and decapitate and eat somebody in front of the other riders and it doesn't make the news? You gotta admit, as insanity goes it doesn't get much deeper than that.

I would imagine it was a surprise. The 22 year old couldn't have been expecting an attack and even if he had a second or two there's only so much you can do in a bus. If you could handle that situation you must have some serious fu

pathetic. people really need to grow some balls. they could have possibly save this poor mans life. surely someone on the bus had a knife, bat, something heavy that you could do damage with.

i dont remember what this psychological theory is, but just another reason it is right. according to the theory that if one person sees something happening that is wrong they will fix it quick more than likely. If 2-4 people see something happen they will probably fix it or help within 5 seconds. If a large group sees something happen nobody will do anything. Somehow the number of people present is spose to shift responsibility to the point where nobody takes action because they are all waiting for someone else to.

Our teacher went on to tell us, jokingly, if you ever want to kill someone do it right in the open in the middle of a large crowd.

Any pysch majors here know what i am talking about called? I probably butchered the theory, had the class a year ago. But I'm pretty sure that is close.

Most people won't lift a finger to even help somebody if it's inconvenient, let alone when Canibal Carl starts fixing dinner on a bus. There's been tons of equally bizarre episodes of the crowd thing your describing. In CPR classes they teach you to identify a single individual to call 911 instead of making a random appeal before helping the victim.

Yeah, I heard that same theory in my psych class... I know if I saw someone dismembering someone and trying to eat them, I would attempt something!

After he started stabbing the kid EVERYONE got off and locked himinside the bus. so he had time to eat him

correct, and IIRC the first stab was in and through the throat, so there's not a lot you can really do to save the guy after that. I don't fault the other passangers here at all for trying to save their own lives.
