Default Cuts

According to Bill Williamson's blog, the Broncos cut tackle Marcus Gordon, LB Braxton Kelley, and WR Travis Shelton ... all UDFA signings.

Do they usually start trimming guys already? Or are they making room for some other players?

I'd imagine just trimming some fat that they don't see anything working out with. You have a tackle and an LB that may not fit the 3-4 and we have what ten wr's?

Watermock just did. Of course he was serious in his criticism.

I know! It feels like he's going out of his way to dismantle our team!

what's the big deal? These guys were scrubs, he was giving them a shot, or just filling a hole, doesn't want to carry them into the last mini camp, cut them loose.

I think I'm missing the big picture here, but to me this seems very normal and nothing out of line of what Shanny used to do?

You're not missing anything, it is perfectly "normal". We can only hope that the idiots complaining about it aren't serious, but I fear that they are.

Not much to see here, but I guess you *could* look at who wasn't cut...specifically Rulon among other UDFA's. Still doesn't really turn this into much of a story, but something that popped in my head real quick...

I thought they were gonna give Shelton a better chance at punt/kick returner

You are wrong:

http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_12282600

So - do you only read the articles that bash McDaniels and the Broncos? Seriously, it has been reported over and over and over again that the Broncos will still utilize the zone blocking system, while also incorporate elements of the Patriots style. They have talked about it in articles and talked about it in videos. This is why McDaniels retained Dennison and Turner.

I can not believe how blinded by hatred some of you are. It is truly amazing.

We still are a primary ZBS running scheme, just with other things mixed in now.
