Default OT: Are you ready for some fantasy football (pre-season rankings)?!

This is all very scientific, trust me. Here are my own personal rankings (will follow). Disagree? Post here...

Slaton needs to drop down, teams will be scheming for him.

I honestly believe DeAngelo Williams is the #1 back, after the end to last years season (Playoff time), this guy is a stud and a half.

Brian Westbrook up, way up, all this guy does every year is get like 2,000 yards and 11+ TD's. A model of consistency, a RB you can play against ANY defense. That's a special skill now. Many RB's you fear starting against the ravens etc, Westbrook will go out and do work every week.

Stephen Jackson up, another stud, he just got hurt last year. His top end is ridiculous (I know, he **** on me 2 years ago in the playoffs and cost me almost $2,000)

I'd be careful with D-Will that high despite his breakout second half of last year. Stewarts gotta be nipping at his heels for more PT this season.

I'd move Knowshown up. Granted its risky but behinds Denver's O-line and with a much subdued passing game he could be a major foce this year. Always risky to bet on a rookie but he is a very polished runner out of college. I'd probably put him on top of the shaky ranks for those reasons.

Platoon backs are getting to be the norm. They will always produce at a high level when they are on the field and less likelyto get injured due to their limited play time. DeAngelo has proven he has exceptional platoon ability, and definately the #1 back in those areas.

Re: Westbrook

To whoever up there who was pimping him. I agree he's a great back, but what about his injury history?

I like Jones-Drew a lot this year. Without Taylor taking half his carries, he should be awesome.

For QBs:

Romo, Cutler and Ryan needs to go down. Romo will get you to the playoffs and then procede to put up 120 yards and 4 INTs in every game the last 4 weeks, Cutler will be decent but not spectacular and Ryan is overrated. As we saw with New Orleans, teams that have a magical year after a ****ty year tend to end up being average.

Matt Hasselbeck is a real sleeper, he has Houshmanzadeh, Carlson and Branch (best catchers he ever had) and the defense is getting better. Trent Edwards and Matt Schaub are also serious sleepers, Edwards has solid people to throw to and Schaub has a better O-line and running game than he has ever had.

As for runningbacks, Knowshon Moreno, Ronnie Brown and Steven Jackson need to move up, they are all going to get the lions share of touches. LT, Thomas Jones and Westbrook are too high, LT is going to slow down a lot, Jones is sitting out and is getting into a difficult age and Westbrook will lose touches with his injury and Lesean Mccoy in Philly.

The only problem with fantasy Football is every thing is based on what they did last season.

Riiiiight, but it's also about getting the larger chunk of the carries.

Stewart is more dominant between the tackles, and with a game under his belt, the NFL will slow down for him this season.

D-Will has been an underachiever until last year. He'll be a great option to run wild on Ds that Stewart has beaten to death, imo. I'm skeptical on taking him too high for sure.

Knowshon might be the best sleeper pick in any fantasy draft. Several factors coincide: one of the best O-line in the league, no other workhorse back, and far fewer pass attempts. This adds up to a massive stats year.

Knowshon at #32 is almost as silly as Cassel at #10 (which is insanity).

I'll bet Knowshon Moreno finishes Top 15 in RB fantasy numbers, maybe Top 10.

These take into account last year's performance, but are updated based on any new changes (eg. Cutler is lower based on going to a team with worse receiving options)

Matt Ryan is an absolute stud. I am definitely targeting him. I am guessing he will be undervalued this year.

not a bad ranking...but two really big mishaps IMO....

Westbrook is a top tier fantasy back all day long...maybe THE best...obviously his injury history (and present) are a concern...but they're keeping him fresh for week 1...he's a big time playmaker...when on the field just expect big numbers...

the other mishap is having Chris Johnson so low...he will have even more touches than last season...big time playmaker....

In fantasy terms, I think Larry Fitzgerald is overrated at #1. Way too many people assume he´s just gonna pick up where he left off at the end of the playoffs. I wouldn´t be too sure of that.

Things I do know

- After drafting Romo in the 2nd round last year I won´t touch a QB until the 6th or 7th round this year. Drafting QBs high simply isn´t worth it as there´s always someone decent available in the middle rounds.

- Greg Olsen will be my Tight End.
