i watched two episodes of this show and literally found it laughable...

i actually invited people over for the second episode to show them how awful the dialogue/storyline/conflict was

Thanks for your input though, 2 whole episodes, I'm sure thats a good ammount of time to judge a show. But hey, thats your opinion, and its funny cuz your in the minority. The show has a pretty big following.

not really....when you live with 4 other guys in a house and you are all stoned and drunk on Sunday night you would be surprised what turns out to be interesting

but its a good premise for a show....a rebel vampire with a tender heart

truthfully, the show sucks from a written standpoint and the acting is terrible, but it's fun and entertaining....

I dont think anyone is really arguing....i stated my point that i thought the acting and writing (which is what I tend to look for in television shows) is horrid

then I was accused of sucking off my roommates....

makes sense now right? if you dont like True Blood, you instead prefer to spend an hour flossing with your friends' pubes...there is no gray area here folks

I wasnt the one talking smack on a show after watching 2 hours of the first season. If you feel that thats a good ammount of time to figure out if you're going to enjoy the show then thats fine. Some people besides you, enjoy the show for various reasons. I'm telling you it has a following, and its probably one of the more entertaining things that HBO has put out after Sopranos and Sex and the City. Whateverz floats your boat dude, I just didnt like how you nominated yourself the Manes TV critic and blasted the thread.

I mean seriously, there are plenty of threads here on the Mane that I have zero interest in or dont care for, I would never waste my time going and posting in it.

Kinda like the people who kept bashing soccer in a soccer thread.

anywayz, hopefully you and your roomates can split up an xbox 360 or something, so you dont have to sit there and watch a show you find "laughable."

The show is not without its flaws but I would certainly never say Alan Ball's writing "sucks". The dude wrote and Academy Award winning Best Picture (American Beauty) and also wrote Six Feet Under among other things. No, the show isn't on the same level of previous HBO powerhouses like The Sopranos and The Wire, two of the best shows ever on TV, but I agree that it's "fun and entertaining". Anybody who watches beyond the first 2 episodes is going to get hooked.

I posted my opinion and then my sexual preferences were brought into play (which is fair game on an internet message board). The fact that you put Sex and the City up there as a quality show just proves that we have differences in opinion when it comes to television shows....The Wire blows both Sopranos and SIC out of the water

In no way did I proclaim myself the "Mane's TV Critic" although I'm sure Dortoh could get a poll going and we could nominate one if you so please...

And just for the record, a good number of shows break or make it during the first two episodes....especially after all the viral marketing and teasing this show did. It gets people to tune in and form an opinion....

If you talk about the 2 most popular series on HBO, The Sopranos and SATC are the on top. The Wire is a great show yes, but its nowhere near as popular as those two. I said ENTERTAINING, had nothing to do with quality.

I'm anticipating it, been a fan of and season 1 ended in november so I've had to wait 8 months for this series. Season 1 finale left us hanging big time, here's hoping that the 1st episode in series 2 starts us off good.
