Default Bing kicks @$$ ...Microsoft's New Search Engine

porn or no porn this feature is KILLER ...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,...est=latestnews

Microsoft's New Search Engine Puts Porn in Motion

Your kids may get a bang out of Bing — and that's not a good thing, Internet safety experts warned on Monday.

Bing, Microsoft's new search engine (www.bing.com), went live in the U.S. this weekend, aiming to challenge and possibly unseat industry titan Google.

But bloggers and Internet safety experts quickly discovered that one of Bing's "features" is that it takes only a few clicks for anyone — of any age — to view explicit pornographic videos without even leaving the search engine.

In its bid to beat Google, Microsoft has unveiled a slate of convenient features for Bing, including an "autoplay" tool that lets users preview videos simply by hovering a mouse over them.

It's great .... not just for porn ... and you can filter it out just like google.

check it out ... this is just a search of Denver Broncos ... The hovering thing is great .

Wow. LOVE the video feature. Of course Google will just come out with a better version of that in 6 months. But I'm sold until then

HAHA.

Google will probably come out with something but it wont be better. It will stay in beta for 4 years and by the time it comes out of beta Bing will be fully featured and refined.

Google doesnt make a very refined product. They make a simple, easy to use for dumbasses product. Which is why so many people (myself included) love it. Free of clutter and mess, but hardly "better" than the competition.

its their simplicity that makes Google and its products/services awesome, not how superior they are (well, their search is pretty good).

The search engine is unparalleled, but I agree with you. Their stuff does what it says it will without a bunch of bells and whistles.

Also, if anybody is seriously worried about their children using Bing to find porn they are completely clueless. If their kids are using the internet and want to find porn, yet needed to wait for Bing to find it, then they are equally clueless.

I started using bing yesterday with Firefox. It's hella fast! The maps look good but, it doesn't zoom in enough and there is no street view.

Compare search results and speed of Google and Bing:

http://www.blackdog.ie/google-bing/search.php

All the searches I have done with this tool the Google results have loaded faster and with more relevant results.

I searched porn for the hell of it...

6.6 MILLION videos came up.

Also I've seen this "feature" on websites just not a broad search engine.

This site is definitely going to steal some thunder from google.\

Edit: Already found a good find

I agree. They need street view for maps and stuff. I think the content will pick up as soon as they get more traffic.

I have to agree with this. So far Bing is pretty impressive.

This is a very fair review of bing comparing it to google.

http://solution.allthingsd.com/20090...ields-results/

Disclamer: I am a developer of search team of microsoft which built Bing.

I am happy that you guys like Bing so far the response has been very positive. Search space is dominated by google and content providers have been yearning for a competitor for Google for years now. IMO, this is the first release of Live search which offers a reasonable alternative to google.

Oooo really , you own all three ... Damn you're to cool for words ...

I hate anyone who acts as if one is in somehow more useful , needed or ground breaking as the other ... I own both , both are great with out one the other wouldn't be as great .

People who like cheer and hype something as mundane as a OS must be a real hit at parties ...

get over it ...

Let's fight over Nike vs Reebok next ... that should be high drama ...

Watch-out! Bing is part of the new search engines that will show up on your local sherrif's department should you choose to search for anything illegal. Their not going to blow down your door....unless you're dortoh...but they will use it against you if it's ever convenient.

Just remember, if you like doing searches for barely legal teens, then you're barely not a pedophile.

Their algorithm is better! A tribute to the trod upon nerds around the world. Google and its simplistic format will always be my favorite. The bells and whistles just hide the fact that the other guys engines aren't as good at finding stuff.

But I was reading that back in 2007 Google was responsible for over 60% of the searches and now they are back closer to 50% so the other guys are adapting.
