Well, this isn't a MATCH, per se. However, many of Cactus Jack's promos will go down in wrestling history as pure genius. Some of today's wrestlers really need to learn the psychology of working the mic to elicit emotions from the viewer...

My all time favorite, "The Ultimate Challenge", Wrestlemania VI ![]() Hogan and Andre squaring off in an all time great in front of a packed house at the Pontiac Dome, WrestleMania III ![]() Warrior, Savage and Sherri backstage right before the crown jewel of Wrestlemania VII, the career ending match. An absolute classic. ![]() The mega powers explode at Wrestlemania V! ![]() Maybe the finest technical match ever at Wrestlemania III between Savage and Steamboat. ![]() Sting's career takes off after a win over the legendary Ric Flair for the title at the Great American Bash, 1990 ![]()

SoCal my friend, you are lucky this is a football board and not a wrestling one because posting these matches (while obviously historical) in a hardcore thread would undeniably blacklist you amongst wrestling nerds across the net.
Hardcore refers to matches that are your very violent, non-DQ type matches. Generally most fans consider matches from the old ECW, New Japan and Indy promotions to be hardcore. Occasionally you'll get a WWF/E or WCW match but there's something corporate and "non-expertly" about referencing one of those matches amongst top hardcore ones. Although there have been matches by the hardcore definition in those promotions that by the book of "what makes of a good match" are good ones (Edge/Foley at WM22 for example), most die-hard internet wrestling fanatics respond to comparing WWF/E and WCW matches to old ECW, New Japan and Indy matches (especially hardcore) the way most die-hard Broncos fans would respond to a comparison of Jake Plummer and John Elway. If you're ever looking for a good time - just go on a few wrestling boards. Preferably Indy ones. It's like a cult world my friend. Last edited by montrose; 05-16-2009 at 02:31 AM.. |

New Jack Brawls with Vic Grimes (The Danbury Fall)
During ECW's Living Dangerously pay-per-view in March 2000, a breakdown in communication between New Jack and Grimes led to both men tumbling off a 20-foot high scaffolding rig onto concrete. New Jack suffered brain damage and was permanently blinded in his right eye, which kept him out of wrestling for several months. Grimes would depart ECW not long after this incident. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vic_Grimes |

A lot of classics have been posted here. Mick Foley is my all time favorite wrestler. Not just for his hardcore work, but his fantastic character development and promos. He was special
I have an old ECW tape that has a RVD vs. Sabu and an RVD vs. Jerry Lynn that were both great. I cannot remember which matches they were though. I'll browse youtube and try to find them. |

This is worth it for the Joel Gertner intro alone. He was the funniest man in the history of wrasling period.
I'm not into this stuff much anymore, but if nothing else is on, I'll tune in.....that happened about a year ago when I tuned into TNA and saw this entrance Now I'm a big Beautiful People mark ![]() |

I'm a big wrestling nerd, though I tend to lean towards more high-flying fast paced wrestling instead of death-matches.
If we are talking death matches though, anything with the Necro Butcher is usually pretty bloody. If we are talking straight wrestling though just about every match I have ever seen with El Generico in it has been entertaining. |

Hayabusa did invent one of my favorite moves if I recall correctly, the Phoenix Splash. Japanese wrestling is harder to follow than American promotions though, so mostly I watch ROH, CHIKARA or the like. Also anything with CM Punk. |
