why does it feel like the recession is being used as an excuse to fire people and send more money to the top?

believe me, its just that.

companies are getting their employees used to "no annual raises" and "cutting costs wherever possible" and "no more 401K matching or tuition reimbursement"

it will never go back to the way it was.

Damn, is this some carryover from your bad mood thread? You are having one angry week. I haven't spent much time on the Mane the last few years, and I wonder what happened to some of the cheerful, Up With People types, like an old-timer Hotrod that used to be here a lot. I'm guessing he's touring with Up With People now.

Expand or die...Recession or not, if you ain't expanding, you're contracting. This is the prime time--while everyone else is paralyzed with fear--to get creative and get busy.

The government is there only to tell you that life is hard, times are tough, and you probably can't get by without them. F-'em all.

IRS gave me $8000 for buying my first home. Free. No payback necessary.

Recession frickin' rules!

In all fairness though, that money sits in the bank waiting to pay my mortgage for 6 months if I lose my job because of the recession.

Recession frickin' scary!
