McGill Named Assistant Director of College Scouting The Denver Broncos on Friday hired Lenny McGill as assistant director of college scouting, it was announced. McGill joins the Broncos after spending the previous nine years as a college scout for Green Bay following the conclusion of his NFL playing career. A former cornerback, McGill saw time in 62 career regular-season games (9 starts) and three postseason contests with Green Bay (1994-95), Atlanta (1996-97) and Carolina (1998). As a college scout with the Packers, McGill was responsible for scouting the Central Plains region. Hired by Green Bay on Feb. 2, 2000, he was part of five playoff berths and four division titles with the Packers while helping the club post the NFL's sixth-best regular-season record (84-60 / .583) from 2000-08. McGill entered the NFL with Green Bay as a college free agent in 1994 from Arizona State University and played two seasons with the Packers and Falcons before concluding his career with the Panthers in 1998. He totaled 104 career tackles (84 solo), four interceptions (29 yds.), 16 pass breakups, one sack (5 yds.), two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. A two-year starter at Arizona State, McGill played for the Sun Devils from 1990-93 and was an honorable mention All-Pacific-10 Conference selection as a senior. He also lettered for three seasons on the Sun Devils' track and field team, finishing second in the conference in the triple jump as a sophomore. |

Well its good to see us putting together a new scouting dept. We were pretty sparse there for a while.

I don't see any info here to form an opinion on the guy. Which players in particular has he scouted? Hopefully not Bubba Franks (still glad we passed on that guy..).

Well, at least he wasn't hired from ESPN because he couldn't get a real scouting job for 5 years like Kidd.
He's been scouting with a quality franchise for almost a decade, straight. That's encouraging, especially since GB has been doing fairly well in the draft recently. Good luck to Mr. McGill, I hope he does a fine job with us.

Yeah...we wouldn't be a laughingstock if Thompson were in charge.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who would disagree with the idea that we'd be in a better place with one of the best GMs in the game.
Hopefully, McGill gets his mitts on some serious power in Denver FAST. He's very smart and would've absorbed a ton from Teddy. |
