Default Odd man out at RB?

I'm assuming we keep Torain and Hillis due to thier cheap price tag.

Torain will get his 10 carries then we won't have to worry about him because of IR.

You forgetting a couple? Perhaps Selvin Young or even Moore. We have seven RBs.

Selvin Young needs to be cut at some point I would think. I think Arrington sticks around to work as 3rd down back. Hillis will be listed as a FB.

Moreno/Buckhalter carry most of the load if no injuries.

Torrain I would say if he's healthy will get a shot at being on the team.

I didn't forget them. The poll would be worthless if they were on it.

Its kind of ironic that Il Duce claims to be all about smart situational football when you consider that probably the smartest play made by a Bronco over the past two seasons that demonstrates good situational football was the play in the Buffalo game in 2007 when Selvin Young knocked the ball out of bounds. This was the play that saved the drive that led to the famed Elam field goal. It was the very first game of 2007.

Its ironic because I can see Young being one of the first to get the axe.

Wow, youre right. He should be in Mensa because he knocked the ball out of bounds.

I believe we'll keep Torain, Knowshon, Buckhalter, and L Jordan on the active roster, with Hillis at FB. If we keep 5 RB then Arrington sticks. It sets up a nice competition in camp. The only RB that will be guaranteed a spot is Knowshon, and perhaps Buckhalter.

Nevermind the cafeteria. It was a smart play if you want to talk about sitauational football though.

It was a smart play and he may be a smart player but that doesn't mean he has the talent.

I think he is one of the weakest we have one the team, therefore he should be cut.

If he comes back and plays lights out I will happily admit I was wrong but I don't think he will. Look for him to be a Texan next year.

I see the depth being (as of right now):

Moreno
Buckhalter
Jordan
Hillis
Torain
Young
Moore

I forgot Hall was already gone

Torain tore his ACL back in November, right? Players come back from that injury quicker than they used to, but I honestly still believe that ONE YEAR is required for a full/optimal recovery.

I think Torain could start off on PUP, and possibly on IR, which would give us flexibility with his spot on the roster in terms of not counting against the 53-man squad.

Young=crap
Buckhalter=been injured alot
Jordan=slow and plodding
Hillis=Fast and plodding
Torrain= still injured
Arrington=3rd down back

It's pretty obvious to me not only was Moreno possibly BPA, he is also needed desperately.

Does anyone think Arrington or Jordan could have saved us last yr? Do you feel comfortable relying on Buckhalter to carry the load?

I think the Moreno pick is looking pretty smart. Lost Cutler in backfield, get some talent to put back there because you need the ball going to talented players. Marshall, Royal and the TE will need some help now that Cutler isn't there to extend plays and throw ball all over field.

Torain is gone. I'm surprised that hasn't sunk in yet. Torain will not carry the ball for the Broncos again. He had great potential, but it wasn't to be.

I wonder how many RB we are actually going to keep?

I like Buckhalter, Moreno, and Hillis but after that I am not sure which one matters.

Im not saying he should or will keep Young. All Im saying is that, the play I identified was probably the smartest play made by any member of the team that demonstrated situational awareness over the last 2 years.

Another one might be Stokleys play where he prevented Marshall from pulling out the black and white glove.

...but Youngs was definitely up there.
