Default Possible Trade with Saints upcoming...

This is from my espn Saints shopping for backfield help?
Upon the release of Edgerrin James earlier this week, the New Orleans Saints were mentioned as a possible destination, given the Saints' current backfield situation: somewhat untested Pierre Thomas looking to build on his 129-carry 2008 season, and electrifying yet injury-prone Reggie Bush as the X factor.
There's another option if the Saints don't land James, that being a trade. In his Diner Morning News column today, Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post throws out the possibility that the Saints could be calling teams around the league to assess the availability of some superfluous runners. In particular, Lombardi mentions the Denver Broncos, who have a veritable army of backs on the roster after a free-agency bonanza and the drafting of Knowshon Moreno; the Dallas Cowboys, a team that will begin 2009 with a three-headed monster in the backfield if no changes are made; and the New York Jets, who have yet to appease Thomas Jones with a new deal.

Of those three, the most likely deal would be made with the Broncos. The new management duo of coach Josh McDaniels and Brian Xanders has proved it doesn't let emotional ties get in the way of improving the team, as franchise quarterback Jay Cutler was first denigrated in the media and then traded away to the Chicago Bears. To this end, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Broncos trade away some other holdovers from the previous administration, and either Peyton Hillis, Ryan Torain or Selvin Young could be had on the cheap.

The Saints don't have much to spend under the salary cap - some estimates have them about $2 million under the cap number after signing their rookie class - but that could be enough room to sign Edge to an incentive-laden deal. Failing that, a trade would seem quite likely.

I could deal with torain or young being traded, but not Hillis. We need a stud fb/rb who can spell knowshon. Who would we be wanting to acquire from the saints? Any suggestions?

I read this. its all lombardi speculation. He looked at our roster and saw we had a lot of running backs.

Aside from Hillis, none of our backs have much trade value really.

Maybe a late round/conditional pick for Selvin, but I assume they'll want a more physical back rather than a starving man's Reggie Bush like Selvin.

Hillis would be a nice replacement for McCallister.

If this were a poll, I'd go with the conditional 2010 pick crowd.

we wouldn't get a player from them for the bums on our roster...

so we'd get at the most a 2010 6th round pick...maybe...

Of the RBs on the roster the only only who doesn't seem to have a place and might have some trade value is Buckhalter.

Cut Young...he is worthless!

Torrain hasn't proven anything yet. Arrington is our new KR. Jordan is our short yardage back. Hillis is our FB of the future.

If we trade one, it'll be from the Arrington, Jordan, Buck contingent. (Not to say Selvin or Torain are safe; I think they'll get cut.)

if I am the Saints I don't want Torain, all he has proven is that he gets hurt

Jordan is safe, he knows the system and I think they really like Arrington based on their not giving up on getting him even when it did not make sense

I would say Buck, Young and unfortunately Hillis are the targets if I had to guess and I will be flaming ****ing superfly TNT throw aids infected cobras on fire at your crotch while throwing you in a locked room filled with hungry tigers pissed if they get rid of Hillis

Trading a RB for Charles Grant would be interesting.....but the $$$ Grant is getting probably preclude a trade.

it won't be Selvin, that's for sure...

the Saints have been looking for a compliment to Bush, not his backup...

they want a power back because Pierre Thomas is no power back...

so that leaves Jordan, Torrain, and Hillis....and like most, i certainly wouldn't want Hillis to be traded...

Unless they plan to not use a FB, I don't see why Hillis would be traded. Buckhalter could be the guy though, unless Jordan doesn't impress at all.
