Default Vick Offered Arena League Deal - LOL

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Michael Vick has a place on a minor league football team if he can get reinstated by the NFL.

The Albany Firebirds, an arenafootball2 franchise, have offered the 28-year-old quarterback a one-year contract at the league standard: $200 a week plus a $50 bonus for a win.

Vick quarterbacked the Atlanta Falcons for six seasons before being convicted of bankrolling an interstate dog fighting business.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has not said if he will lift Vick's suspension after he completes a 23-month prison sentence. Vick goes from federal prison to home confinement next month.

The Firebirds' contract offer requires that Vick donate $100,000 to a local humane society.

A call to Vick's agent was not immediately returned.

So they would pay him $200 / week or about 10 grand per year and his contract would require him to donate $100,000 to the local humane society. About what he deserves.

Earning 200 bucks a week but he has to donate a 100K!

The sad thing is that he probably couldn't afford it.

If Goodell lets Vick back in the league he's the biggest idiot on the planet. He needs to balance the revenue some team will gain by signing that POS and compare it to how many dog owners in America will boycott his product. Is he really that big of a moron? Vick never plays in the NFL again. **** him.

If he's in any kind of football shape, I agree. Maybe even a shot @ the Grey Cup if he winds up in the CFL...

I see Vick back in the NFL. Goodell sounds like he is open to him returning if shows remorse. Not sure who takes a flyer on him. If I was Mike Singletary I would be very interested as I don't think the guy will screw up again. He could really help the 49rs. Dude has all world talent. Probably still better than 5 or 6 QBs right now.

Would you rather have him or Vince Young at this point?

I'll be very surprised if Vick doesn't get a shot to make his way back onto an NFL roster and I'd be very curious to see if he could pull it off after being away from football for so long. He'd be the most hated man in football but he'd still generate a ton of interest.
