Strengths: Good height and bulk...Above average athleticism...Decent speed with a burst to close...Does a great job in pursuit...Has a fantastic motor...A good pass rusher...Durable...Hard worker...Team leader...Productive. Weaknesses: Did not play against top competition...Average strength...Has some trouble taking on and shedding blockers...Will miss some tackles...A little stiff and doesn't change directions well...Still raw as a technician. Notes: Won the Mississippi state titles in both the long jump and triple jump as a prep...Was a four-year starter for the Braves and never missed a game...Played both outside and middle linebacker in college...Named 1st Team All-SWAC as a senior...Top small school sleeper who could project outside or inside in either a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme...Definitely has some physical tools to develop and might be worth a late round flyer. |

Gotta say, looks pretty interesting. It's easy to get excited about free agents, and teams passed on him for a reason. But, video doesn't lie. He's got some skills.

I was glad to see we signed him. Id like to see some honesty in playing LBs even if that means Robinson, Larsen, and Woodyard.

In that video, he sure doesn't look like he wraps up. Can this guy tackle?

If nothing else he looks like the kind of guy that could make some good plays for us on special teams with his size/speed. NIce pickup.

Usually project players have a ton of physical ability, such as this guy, but need a few years to groom into potential good NFL players. Some make it, some don't. If we had drafted this guy 2 years ago, he'd be looking at the exit sign on his way out of town since our recent DC's sucked at developing young talent. Now, I really believe a guy like this has a lagit shot to actually develop into a decent player in a year or two with Nolan around.

Mile High report:
OLB, Lee Robinson, Alcorn St. by styg50 on Mar 28, 2009 4:47 PM MDT in 2009 NFL Draft
Cons: Teams will not know whether he's a versatile inside-outside linebacker or a "tweener" until they have him in training camp. Styg's Broncos Fit: This guy reminds me eerily of Wesley Woodyard, and that is a damn good thing. He is a good tackler, reads plays well and is instinctual in following the play to the ball. Like WW, one of his strongest assets is keeping blockers away from his legs and keeping hands out of his frame, which leaves him free to make the tackle at the line of scrimmage. His open-field tackling could use work however, as he doesn't consistently break down but he shows a ton of hustle and is quick to congratulate teammates, making him a respected member of the team. His coverage ability is adequate, though he can't hang very long on deeper routes. Has all the markings of a late-round, high-impact player. ![]() Around MHR: Around SBNation: From "Draft Sleeper at LB?" at Arrowhead Pride: From "Texas vs. Nation review" at Blogging the Boys: From "Best Draft Prospect you've Never Heard of" at Phinsider:Highlights: Scouting Reports and Offsite Links:

He also lined up as a down defensive end at times. Possesses the first-step quickness and natural leverage to bull rush linemen and get after the quarterback.

Of course the idiots will say he's a waste of a signing, but if the Broncos had used a 4-6th round pick on him, where he was projected to go, they would be happy. The sense around here is great.
