great stuff. all the haters read it and you will understand what happens on draft day to real NFL teams who are sitting on the clock. they trust in their draft boards that they have spent months assembling. "i dont think this was a very deep draft of players who would fit our system. not that we wouldnt take any. when you get to a selection and you got a player you value much higher tahn another player, in my opinion you dont want to draft someone just because they play a certain position unless you think they are going to come in and make you better." "we are not looking to draft players early and cut them. if they are gonna come in and compete and have a good chance of coming in and making the team, were gonna draft someone we think can at a different position" suckers. |

he reiterated later he drafteda bunch of TEAM FIRST players, no "me me me" players. |

"i love the attitude that every one of these guys is gonna approach our organization and team with which is they are gonna come in and work hard. they know theyve got good competition ahead of them, they know they have good veteran players to learn from, they are gonna do anything they can to help the team improve."

"at certain points in the draft, you ask yourself if we wait, is he gonna be there.... if we wait, we are not gonna be able to obtain the player we wanna get. we weighed the value of what we are trying to try and go ahead and get the palyers we wanna get.
"we have a totally full draft next year, 1-7. we didnt give away any rounds next year, we had some extra and we used to move and get some players in this years draft, which we werent afraid to do that. doesnt mean we will do that all the time" |

The Denver Post article mentions they'll bring in 15 to 18 undrafted FAs in the next few days.

Yesterday, during the 2nd round i realized what he doing.
He had a list of players from this draft he put together, and he went off that list regardless of actual team need. Thats fine, although i think teams like INDY taking Moala or a team like TENN taking Sen'Derrick Marks or NE taking Ron Brace are not bad picks. These teams last i checked seemd to be usually in the playoffs, and seem to have a good idea of how to draft, so i am still a little unsure of MCDs ideology. However. All of the players he drafted are really good players. Its not that the players are not good, he has a good eye for talent i think. its that there were other players that also were talented, and apparently he does not think so. We'll see, i guess. |

"i cant emphasize enough how much we are gonna try to win as a team. it will not be one side of the ball beating the other team, it wont be the other side of the ball beating the other team. itll be 3 phases, playing well, playing together, complementing each other, playing good football"

Funny how baby hoodie couldn't find a DL, yet daddy hoodie drafted 3 DTs. I trust Belichicks drafting more than Mcdaniels so far.

Taken from the denver post online, pretty much sums up how I feel about this entire fiasco
"McHoodie to Hoodie, Come in Hoodie" "Hoodie Here. What is the status of operation 'Destroy Rivals'?" "All is going as planned, sir. We have traded away the franchise quarterback. The receiving TE is soon to follow. We have traded away a probable Top-10 pick next year for a 2nd rounder. I have spent the remainder of the picks on players that were rated as lower round picks or as FAs." "Excellent. Bailey will be retired in 3 years, and then the decimation will be complete." "Yes, sir. The only hurdle was the back Moreno. Eyes were upon me during the first pick, so I was forced to take someone talented, but don't forget sir that I already have 6 running backs, so I was very careful to pick a position where we have no need." "Well done McHoodie. You are tearing apart our rival's team even quicker than Mangini." "Thank you sir. McHoodie out." ![]() Jeremy B Joined: Oct 13 Points: 2955 Permanent link to this commentJeremy B (aka ) | 7:14 PM on Sunday Apr 26 |

Edit: I agree with McD's drafting of team-orientated guys, I just don't think that strategy is opposite of Cutler Last edited by chaz; 04-26-2009 at 06:49 PM.. |

So wait. They admit this draft class was weak, so instead of bundling picks from this class, they threw away a pick from a future one. Yeah that makes sense.

I guess I'll take his word for it. Still, it doesn't change the fact that they'll get run over again.
