Gabe Watson Signs RFA Tender
Posted by Mike Florio on March 31, 2009, 9:10 p.m. EDT Cardinals nose tackle Gabe Watson, a restricted free agent, has signed his one-year tender offer, according to a league source. Watson is now under contract for $1.545 million in 2009. The fourth-round pick in the 2006 draft was tendered at the second-round level. Watson started 16 games in 2007. In 2008, he had eleven regular-season appearances, and he played in every postseason game. His only start of the year came in the Super Bowl. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/...ns-rfa-tender/ This guy is 26...and good. He played at Michigan. He would cost the same as Brace did, but obviusly would be our starter from day 1! He is 6'3, 332 lbs |

Because, as I already said, it's TOO late.
A RFA is free to negotiate until late April (forget the specific date, but it's already passed--which is why he's now signed his tender offer), then his rights revert exclusively back to his current club. |

I'm not following, as others have mentioned, was this thread suppose to state he signed with Denver or he resigned with Zona?

Slade was simply mistaken in the RFA process. I'm assuming he thought it was similar to the franchise tag, when it is in fact the opposite, where you can't be traded until you actually sign the franchise contract.
