Tall. Check.
Immobile. Check. Smart. Check. Named Tom. Check. Yeah that's a Parcells/Belichick/McDaniels style QB. |

Kiper seemed to like him when they were talking about the Day 2 QBs earlier this morning, all the physical tools, just hasn't put it together yet. Here is Josh's developmental QB.

I suppose we needed a developmental QB, but why are we so willing to piss away future picks?

Mayock does not like him (or at least did not like his senior year).

and they gave up a 5th rounder next year plus a 7th this year to get him? OK pick but somebody tell McDaniels to leave next year's picks alone.

Because if McD doesn't win and show something this year future picks wont matter to him.

This is actually a solid pick.
Ive watched alot of him. He has the physical tools to be a good pro, hes just really raw and under coached. Tom Brandstater, Fresno State Height: 6-5. Weight: 220. Projected 40 Time: 4.77. Combine 40 Time: 4.95. Hand Size: 9 1/2. Projected Round (2009): 6-7. Brandstater's strengths are his size and his strong arm. When Brandstater has good mechanics and can step into his throws he can be very accurate and effective. When given time Brandstater can be an effective QB. Brandstater's big strong arm gives him the opportunity to make big plays downfield. Brandstater's biggest weakness is his inconsistency. At times he displays great mechanics and he delivers the ball well, but a lot of the times he is erratic and short arms his throws. He is very bad under pressure and gets very erratic and rushes his throws. |

I like it.
He played in a Run first offense. Was supposed to be good but as Kiper said, he never put it together. Possibly because Fresno State sucked this last year. I think he could be our QB of the future tbh. Seriously, this guy could be good. |

Obviously he's going to have to find a new jersey number.

i am going to want to slit my wrists after saying this, but i agree with Kiper. the guy is raw, but he throws a good ball, is somewhat mobile, can throw ok on the run and has decent arm strength. his main problem is he is raw and is streaky
