Jets move up to take Shon Greene.
Rams take a CB (Bradley Fletcher) with a Scouts Inc rating of 32. Already tired of hearing the Cowboys War Room hype. Puke. |

Wow, the Cowboys got Jason Williams
OUTSTANDING PICK! This kid is a phenomenal athlete with very good football instincts. If anybody in this draft reminds me of Adalius Thomas it is Williams and Sidbury! Too bad we don't have our 3rds now. Sidbury and Stephen McGee would look pretty good here! |

Meanwhile, we have a huge run of DE and LB's going now. Gee. It would sure be nice to have some third round picks to stockpile these positions, no?

Oakland takes Matt Shaughnessy - I've got him as a late 5th rounder. Not a bad player, but again, WAY too early!

Sleeper
Alex McGee, 6-3, 298, Purdue: McGee is a consummate team player who played on both sides of the line, and at inside and out positions in college. http://www.denverpost.com/commented/ci_12174150 very interesting |

His production didn't match his triangle numbers. Personally I think he'll be a player if he can be self motivated.
The Raiders 3rd round selection was more productive in one year of college than Robert Ayers was during his entire collegiate career! |

Jacksonville just took Terrance Knighton and Derek Cox. I wonder if somebody turned their draft board upside down....?

Anybody listen to Richard Quinn's conference call? He thought he was going to be an undrafted Free Agent when the process started. He worked hard, did well in the combine and improved his stock. He had heard the 3rd or 4th round when the draft started. "Shocked" but extremely happy to be a 2nd rounder. I think he's going to be okay. He should be a hard worker and do the extra things.

WOW -- the last 5-6 picks have been all over the board (I'm looking at top 250 rankings from 6 different web sites).
Clearly, there's been a drop-off in overall talent from the end of the 2nd round, and now there's a big, flat tier of 100 or so prospects that teams are choosing from, depending on need. Maybe that's why we jumped up to get Quinn? |

Another strange thing with round 3.... that run on tight ends that everyone has expected? No one has taken a tight end yet. Odd.
