Default NFL.Com - Predict the Pick - Orangemane League

Hey folks,

NFL.com has a cool new feature this year called "Predict the Pick". I thought it would be cool to have an Orange Mane League and find out how good some of our better football heads will do at predicting the crazy nature of NFL GM's. I did a quick search and didn't see that anyone had one going yet, so I created one. If there is another league going, please let me know, and I will pull this one down!

To Join:
Click on the following link ( http://challengegames.nfl.com/predictpick/ ) fill out your 1st round draft board, Click "Leagues" and search for "The Orange Mane", Click on "The Orange Mane", click the green "Join Now" button.

If anyone needs help getting signed up, just let me know. I'll be happy to help you out.

Details:

Making your Picks

The object is to select, in order from first pick to last pick, the thirty-two (32) (out of sixty-four (64)) pre-identified prospective NFL players (as determined by Sponsor) who will be picked in first round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

To make your selections, follow the instructions provided on the Fantasy Game page to fill and submit your Draft Card with the thirty-two (32) prospects in order of first pick to last pick and also place your guess, in the space indicated, as to how long (in hours and minutes) the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft will take from start to finish, with the start being the naming of the first selection and the finish being the naming of the last selection. The length of the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft will be announced by a representative of the Sponsor at the Draft.
Draft pick deadline

The deadline for choosing or modifying your round 1 draft picks and selecting the length (in hours and minutes) of the first round is 3:00:00 pm ET on 4/25/09.

Your last selection(s) or modification(s) that are received by 3:00:00 pm ET on 4/25/09 will be considered your entry and used to tabulate your Fantasy Points. All selections must be accepted and acknowledged by the computer servers by the deadline above (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) to be considered valid, timely, and eligible.

Prize Eligibility

Grand Prize:
Based on the actual Draft Picks made by each team during the first round (not inclusive of post pick negotiations/trades), the participant who accumulates the highest amount of Fantasy and Bonus Fantasy Points combined (hereafter “Total Fantasy Points”) at the conclusion of the first round in the 2009 NFL Draft, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winner.

First Prize:
Based on the actual Draft Picks made by each team during the first round (not inclusive of post pick negotiations/trades), the participant who accumulates the second highest amount of Total Fantasy Points at the conclusion of the first round in the 2009 NFL Draft, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be deemed potential First Prize winner.

Second Prize:
Based on the actual Draft Picks made by each team during the first round (not inclusive of post pick negotiations/trades), the four (4) participants who accumulate the third through the sixth highest amount of Total Fantasy Points at the conclusion of the first round in the 2009 NFL Draft, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be deemed potential Second Prize winners..

Scoring

Draft picks for the purposes of this Promotion will be determined based on the actual picks made by the teams during the first round of the Draft. Any trades made by a team after the completion of each pick in the first round of the Draft will not count. For example if Team A uses their fourteenth pick to select John Doe but then they trade him to Team B who pick nineteenth in the draft, Fantasy Points will be tabulated based on John Doe being the fourteenth (not nineteenth) pick.

Scoring Example:
if a participant picks, in exact order, the 31 first round Draft picks, he/she will accrue 3,100 Fantasy Points + 600 Bonus Fantasy Points for a total of 3,700 points (maximum number of points available). If a prospective NFL player is picked by a team in the first round of the Draft but was not included in the list of 48 pre-identified prospective NFL players provided during the Promotion Period, no points will be earned for that pick. If a participant does not fill in all 31 slots in his/her Draft Card by the completion of the Promotion Period, no points will be earned for the pick(s) which was left blank.

--- It mentions prizes. . . But I haven't figured out exactly what the prizes are yet. . .

The good news for you is that picks aren't viewable until after the draft starts. . . So don't worry, AJ Smith won't be able to use your expert analysis to build his board ahead of time

And your avatar proves you at very least have a good sense of humor. . . Bravo

Everyone is getting off work now, so I'm hoping we start to see this league fill up. Hell, the sorry Chiefs fans have managed to fill their league up with 61 eager draft preDICKtors.

Get on over there and get your picks in!!
