Default Question: What could Broncos get from Skins if exchange 12 and 13th picks?

Wondering if anyone has an idea of what the Broncos could get by exchanging
pick 12 for pick 13 with skins?

Reason based on rumors:

1) Skins are hot hot hot for Sanchez and want to trade up its on all the
sports radio stations here in D.C.

2) Chiefs want to trade down and want T. Jackson

3) Broncos like T. Jackson as well

4) Reports are Seattle may take Sanchez so Skins need to get up to #3.

So in order to get their guy the Chiefs might want the Skins to leap frog the
Broncos 1st before a Chiefs-Skins trade with the Skins getting #3 and the
Chiefs getting #12.

The broncos might not want to oblige in this since it helps out the Chiefs but if not the Broncos then someone else might deal with the skins. But when you really think about it all this could just be smoke and mirrors, who knows.

I dont think KC will do Denver any favors come the draft. KC will probably deal with Wash first if anything.

I am Oliver Stone by the way how did you know.

All 4 of the rumors I listed are out there in the news.

Looking at the draft order and draft mocks, if the chiefs want Jackson, best RB, or best CB then they need to get just outside of the top 10 to be safe.

Who might take the chiefs targeted player:

Bills won't take another RB, not sure CB, Jackson likely not( he appears to be coveted by teams running/switching to a 3-4)

Broncos could easily target same players chiefs want Jackson, best RB, best CB.

Chiefs will not trade #3 to skins unless they are sure they will get a target player and that likely means getting ahead of broncos. One way is for the skins to flip picks with the broncos before dealing with the chiefs. I think it makes sense but I've been wrong before (Alexander, JFK, W).

Checked on OMane draft value chart and to flip 12 and 13 its 50 points the value of a late 4th rounder. The Skins don't have a 4th this year so maybe a 3rd next year?

Too bad the skins are deficient of draft picks.

So why would we even consider making this deal if it results in Jackson going to KC instead of Denver? Doesn't make sense... if Jackson is there at 12, like last year with Clady, we hang up the phones and submit the card.

I am assuming he ment as an unexpecting partner. That is why we would trade with the skins first then the chefs would feel ok trading with the skins.

My head hurts

Maybe the broncos will take the extra pick and move down if they have a
number of targeted players in the 12-13 range. I be they have a RB on the
list, possibly Moreno.

I do think the broncos pick at #12 is ideal as a stepping board for the skins or
jets to obtain and to then deal with the chiefs but with one problem:

they would have to give up the broncos #12 and then a 1st rounder next year. Seems like a lot, they will probably wait and hope Sanchez falls a bit.

No, the Chiefs only make the trade if they can get what they deem to be fair value for their draft pick. Teams don't trade down simply to target a player because they know the risk of someone jumping their new spot, they trade because they like the return and they'll deal with who is on the board at their new spot when they're on the clock.

I was assuming all the details of the trades would be worked out with fair values but in addition think its best for chiefs to end up with a 1st round pick before the broncos since they very well may have similar players targeted.

Problem is chiefs pick may be worth too much at #3 for skins and jets to package a trade for.

Washington doesn't have the ammo unless they dip into '10 picks, and supposedly he needs to get past Seattle first, and the Jets are way too far back to be a serious threat to move to #3.

There are only two elite 3-4 DL talents in this draft though, if one is available at #12 we don't trade back. No deal would make giving up that pick sensible.

so what you're saying is that the Broncos move back one slot thus making us lose out on the player we covet, so that our division rival can get him?...

and we do all of that to gain a late 4th rounder?...

like i said, you lost me...why would we do that?...

Broncos likely have a number of players targeted at 12-13 as is usually the
case. If the chiefs do trade and drop down there is not much the broncos
can really do about it, might as well take advantage. Picking up a 4th or
3rd next year is worth it I think. But its all speculation.

You can't worry about stopping other people from getting someone. Washington is going to have a hard time moving up without giving something good away.

i completely disagree with that logic but like you said you're just specualting anyway...

there's certainly no harm in that...
