In all seriousness, I would like to get this guy. He could very well go unpicked, and his vertical jump was only 10" more than Everette Brown.

Good find .... look at all those sacks and TFLs ... for three solid years.

Conference USA is pretty decent competition, too.

Reminds me a bit of Wesley Woodyard, in that he has serious playmaker big-play numbers, but despite that it looks as if he'll prolly be on the outside looking in on Draft Weekend. Maybe we can pull a WW signing there ...

And it looks like he didn't miss a game in four years .... as the years go by, I'm more and more impressed that games missed in college is a very important factor ... so many draftees can't measure up to the toughness and rigor of the NFL.i

If you are in C-USA these days, you have to run, run, run like a mofo on defense. There are some pretty good offenses there.

I don't know this kid, but I bet he's a good athlete (and can run).

Yes, he has "good speed and quickness with a burst." He played DE in college ... and he'll have to move to OLB in a 3-4.

Actually, he reminds me less of WW, and more of ELVIS DUMERVIL.

In fact, there's alotta parallels between them .... they say he's "too short" and "too light" to be a DE. Still, he has cat-like quickness with all the pass rush moves, and sick TFL and sack numbers. Sounds like Elvis to me ...

I say ... let's get him!

A good defense IMO has a mix of smart workmen type players, some showboats, and then some outright mean dudes. Rey Maualuga gives you that mean nastiness every defense needs in the front seven. He may not understand e=mc2, but for sure he understands kill the guy with the ball. He hits blockers and running backs so hard many players were afraid to even take him on.

Rey IMO is one of those players that gives you some plays in the backfield every week, chases the qb a few times a game, makes a couple big hits that fire up the defense. IMO those things he does really well and makes him worth a first round pick.
