Default Jason Gilbert, haven't heard too much on him on here...

and I don't know why, the guy is huge and can be a stud DE in the 3-4, kinda reminds me of Chris Canty, not a real flashy pick but I would absolutely love him at 48

That's because we've all been talking about Jarron

The gyst on him, from what I've read, is that he's got amazing physical tools, but is a wuss.

All potential and cieling and is very raw. Potential means you haven't done anything yet and is a red flag considering at the school he played at.

I think we should draft entirely on jumping out of pool ability.

He's been discussed quite a bit in the draft forum.

Good bloodlines, his dad played for the Saints.

What are you talking about? He's projected late 1st/early 2nd round. Hasn't done anything? This says otherwise:

http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings...2009&genpos=DE

2008- All American, All WAC 1st Team; Co Defensive Player of the Year; team captain, team MVP, started at his 4th different position in his college career at LDT, led team with 52 tackles/36 solo, 2nd in WAC/19th NAACP with 9 1/2 sacks/-74 yards; Led the NAACP and set WAC record with 22 tackles behind the LOS for -116 yards; 6'5", 284, 4.76 forty, 38 career starts

Reading about this guy, he looks more impressive than Tyson Jackson, who actually does look like a guy who hasn't done much. I'd rather use an early 2nd on him than a top 10 or even the 12th pick on Jackson.

Yep Footsteps is another guy who just reads scouting reports and hasn't watched either one play other than on youtube highlights. Just tell me this why is Jackson's stock rising and his is dropping?

I was high on him, until I heard how the Path to Draft folks talk about how teams are considering moving him to offense line, due to his lack of aggressiveness. Not a good trait for DE.

Do you have a link to his stock dropping? What I'm reading shows it's probably rising. As for Jackson, his stock *might" be rising...some say he's going top ten and some say otherwise, but it's a weak class of DE's who can play in the 3-4 AND there are several teams moving to the 3-4 this year so it should have been obvious to you that a premium exists for that position. Couple a poor market with increased demand...not a mystery why a guy playing the DE spot for LSU should rise in the draft even if he's not that good.

More to the point however, I offered no opinion on whether this Gilbert kid can make the NFL or not, nor do I pretend to know. I was responding to your erroeous statement that he'd not done anything yet and that's why he was all potential based on no performance. Clearly he's performed, as the record clearly shows. Hence, your argument is nonsense.

He is very intriguing to say the least. He looks the part. Biggest question about him for me is the questions about his toughness and DL that aren't tough do not have long careers, much less good ones.

hes most definitely got the size, it could work out great if you have a year or two to wait. coming from DE should help him too, he will know what to expect and how to counter it.

If he can back flip out of a pool then I'd say he's a keeper.
