You forgot
  • Personally responsible for turning the ball over 5 times in the AFC championshiop game.
  • Really good at throwing interceptions.
  • "Led" one of the worst offenses in Broncos history in 2006 only to see it improve under a rookie with no experience.

the team was on its way to a playoff berth that year w/ plummer until they put cutler in. and if you forgot the year before he had just taken them 13-3... whens the last QB to do that for us? and when he had those bad years w/ interceptions he had no receiving core behind him. they were either injured or were retiring. and the team loved playing for him. he was a good man to rally behind and admit won WAY more games than cutler or n/e one else after elway could even dream of winning. sure cutler had the arm but none of the team wanted to play for him...

When did Ben Roethlisberger become the greatest active quarterback in the game? And when did Jake have us with a lead in that game? We started off 0-3 when Plummer committed two turnovers that turned into touchdowns for Pittsburgh.

People seem to ignore the fact that in '96 the offense sucked ass really bad under Plummer, and they were winning because the D was playing lights out. Then the D starts to fall apart, now everybody really sees Plummer sucking ass, so to save the season they had to switch to Cutler. Offensively it worked. I think they went from scoring 17 points per game to 24 points per game. They gained more yards and turned the ball over less. All after changing QBs. But the D just got worse as the season went on, and they still nearly made the playoffs. If they stuck with Plummer they would have been .500 at best. Maybe worse.

After that Kansas City game, even Popps, who had been Plummer's most outspoken coddler here at the time, was resigned to the fact that Plummer had to get pulled in favor of young blood. Plummer played his way out of a starting job. It wasn't like it was just yanked from him out of the blue.

noone i have ever talked too has ever givin a good deal for his 13-3 season.. only becuz he came after elway... and in that season shannahan went all awall w/ his play calling... plus there were no receivers Shannahan no longer called bootlegs. he nolonger called the cut back. he got rid of Bell.. who im my opinion were the best tandum back system out there at the time (both bells) none of it was Jakes fault, i'll admit he had his moments w/ interceptions that got on out nerves but did cutler not do the same thing countless numbers of times yet plummer had a HUGE advantage in win pct.

That is not true at all and I'm sick of people saying that BS. If I'm remembering right the team started 6 and 2. Then the D started to fall apart, and they lost two games in a row, where Plummer sucked ass and the O couldn't score at all. The season was on the verge of going down the drain. Plummer wasn't about to lead them to a winning season or the playoffs. He was horrible. The O improved when they put Culter in, but the D was pretty much toast by that point.

That's pretty much it right there. That game at KC, on Thanks Giving night, was the end for Plummer. He was just bad that game, worse than he had been all season. If they had stuck with him it would have just gotten worse.

like you said the D was goin downhill.. and if you recall Mike started giving PLUMMER a hard time therefore the 2 did not get along n/e longer and plummer had heard a few games before that cutler was gonna take the reigns... which plummer was pissed about (and i completely agree w/ him)

Every time Plummer lined up across the field from Peyton Manning, he crapped himself - and the team followed suit. There's no doubt Plummer is a good leader. The problem is some of the places he led, the team shouldn't have followed...

Plummer with a horrible D was going to lead to a losing season. Cutler gave them a shot to make the playoffs because the O instantly got better when they put him in. And they damn near made the playoffs. Can you explain why the O instantly got better when they put Cutler in? And Culter's numbers were better across the board. And he was just a rookie.

So are you saying that Plummer tanked it because he was pissed? And Shanahan should have been giving him a hard time. He was sucking out there. Isn't that the coaches job? Plummer didn't start to suck because Shanahan was on his back. Shanahan got on his back because Plummer started to suck.
