I had always thought Damon was never on board to make a 4th film in the Bourne series but I guess shooting will begin this summer. How cool. Although, for now, all it says is that he is "attached" the film.
So, let's have a little fun with this shall we? In what capacity do you think Damon's character "Jason Bourne" is attached and what are you guessing the plot looks like? My take: I think Jason Bourne, who now has pieced together the puzzle of his life, now tries to help Nikki in some way as she was still on the run and probably will find danger lurking around some far away corner of the planet. I'm gonna just take a wild shot here and say that even though the founders of Blackbriar have been killed or caught, a new man in the CIA/FBI still believes Nikki was insubordinate, helping Bourne when he was a fugitive. Landy probably has inside scoop on this information and helps give information to Bourne as he tries to locate and help Nikki. Then again, alot of this future plot could be based around the end of the 3rd film. Did Landy's fax go through, did it go to a source that is somehow tied to this and may not forward it through to the correct authorities, is Jason now scrambling around South America trying to find somebody who may have this faxed copy of the Blackbriar confidential files? Maybe the CIA Director wasn't the top level of this scandal. Maybe a senator, a congressman, the Secretary Of Defense? So what's your take? In May 2007, prior to the release of Bourne Ultimatum, Matt Damon claimed that he would not be interested in returning for a fourth Bourne film, stating (of his participation in the Bourne franchise): "We have ridden that horse as far as we can."[28] Damon even said in an interview on The Daily Show that director Paul Greengrass joked that a fourth film could be titled "The Bourne Redundancy."[29] Nonetheless, the financial and critical success of Bourne Ultimatum has led to speculation in several magazines and Internet forums that another Bourne film might be produced. On February 22, 2008, Variety reported that a fourth film was indeed in the works, with both Damon and Greengrass on board.[30] However, on March 9, 2008, Damon and Greengrass claimed they had not agreed to another Bourne film.[31] Damon stated "There are a lot of things that would have to happen before we would sign up for it."[31] Then, on June 25, 2008, producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley said in an interview to IESB.net there would be a fourth Bourne film. Marshall said "Hopefully they will be shooting [in the summer of 2009] for a release in 2010 and our favorite anti-hero is apparently headed to South America."[32] On October 16, 2008, it was announced that George Nolfi would write the script, with Frank Marshall producing, and Jeffrey Weiner and Henry Morrison executive producing. Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Joan Allen, and Paul Greengrass are also attached to the film. Last edited by ZONA; 04-13-2009 at 02:16 AM.. |

I'd be cool with another Bourne film. I love that series.

The first one was good, but after that it kinda loses its luster. I'd still watch it when it came on TNT or something like that.

He wakes up and discovers it was all a dream. We find out he's really just a trucker with a bunch of kids who posts travel updates on an internet football board all day instead of a secret agent.

Loved those films. Never saw any of them in the theatre, and then rented them all through Netflix when I got my big screen.
Hell to the yeah. Can't wait for the fourth installment!

While the Bourne series is good, the character will look silly compared to Vince Flynn's character Mitch Rapp. I'll start getting excited when that series begins on the big screen.
