Default Tim Tebow-A real good reason to wait

Am I missing something here? I can't believe that this has not been posted before since the departure of Jay Cutler. I strongly believe we should use this draft to upgrade our defense, that is reason #1. It didn't matter last year that we had Jay because our defense sucked so bad. That alone should be reason enough to think defense. Reason#2 is that this is considered to be a weak year on QBs and I myself have never been that impressed w/ Sanchez. On top of that, I believe that in Orton and Simms, we have good enough talent to make it through a few seasons w/ them. #3 reason to wait is that IMHO we have one of the great superstar college quarterbacks graduating, yes graduating, from college. Not only does Tim Tebow hold many SEC records and turn in gutsy performances from week to week, he has a great head on his shoulders. I believe him to be even a greater talent than Jay C. What does everyone else think?

Sorry Bum......your a great tailgater and a great bronco fan but tim tebow? I would take bradford or mccoy over tebow in a hearbeat.

Although maybe we could draft him as a RB jk

I dunno about Tebow, but 2010 is the quarterback drafting year, no doubt.

Come to think of it, Tebow seems like Josh's kinda guy ....

Tebow sure is fun to watch. The guy plays with passion and abandon. He's a great college player.

NewRohirrim is right ... Tebow is a great COLLEGE quarterback (and an imposing physical specimin). I'm not sure his skills set translates to the NFL, though.

Maybe McDaniels wants to add the jump pass to the offense in 2010? You never know.

Tebow can also perform circumcisions if need be.

i'd take a shot on Tebow in the 3rd round maybe. if McCoy and Bradford aren't available to us. Regardless of when he gets taken, he will need to sit for a couple seasons, so we need someone who can shoulder the load for at least 3 years, and i am not sure Orton or Simms could do it.

Jevon Snead is coming out in this class too. Im my mind the Broncs options are:

--Take Sanchez at #12, no trading up bulls**t!
--Grab Rhett Bomar in the 5thish round
--Take whoever falls to us at QB in 2010. My prefered order would be Bradford, Snead, McCoy, Tebow.

And yes, Tebow is a great college QB. COLLEGE. His skills may not translate to the pros.

Awwwww.... what do the scouts know! They had Jay C behind Young and Leinhart. How many other first round busts have been homered by the scouts. I know, its a real crap shoot. It will be real interesting to see how his game progresses his senior year, a year which is passed up by many QBs anxious for the big bucks. His momma would have gave him a real @ss whipping if he would have declared his junior year. I've been real impressed w/ his toughness and the way he can bring his A game when needed most.

Tebow's throwing mechanics are a mess, but not neccessarily uncorrectable. I wouldn't ever bet against anyone with his level of commitment, work ethic, and drive.

Meyer built an offense around the skills of his quarterback, and has won 2 national titles...not a horrible thing. If we draft tebow it wont be the end of everything. He would need alot of work on his mechanics and footwork.

And that would make him a great project for our boy genius of a coach! I can hear him gloat now "See, I made Cassel into a great QB, and now I've created a QB monster in Tebow" "Tebow or not Tebow, that is the question"

HAHA.

He takes us to a superbowl or 4, and he can gloat all he likes.

Tebow?

This makes the idea of signing Michael Vick seem sane...

We could totally draft Tim Tebow. I would love to see us throw a fourth round pick at him if he's available.

You got to think "what would Belichick do"? Belichick would not take a QB in the first round. He has had Bomar in for a close look and will probably take him in the 3rd round and keep him on the shelf. McD will mirror Belichick, OB's are not a priority for him. Stock pile the draft picks, it's the Patriot way.

That works great when you luck out beyond belief and get a franchise QB in the 6th round. You know, that kind of affords you the ability to address other areas of your team and move guys with attitudes around other positions since they aren't near as important (and are more plentiful) as the guy lining up behind center.

So tell me. How does this "patriot way" bull**** apply when lightening doesn't strike for you w/ a QB in the late rounds and you trade away an already proven top 5 talent?

You end up with **** like Kyle Orton and Chris Simms.

Tim Tebow and Tyler Hansborough... two of my favorite college players of this decade, but neither will be great pros. Both will be servicable though and you can't measure heart so anything can happen!

Oh I agree with what you are saying, I'm just trying to figure out what McD will do and he mirror Belichick. I think he is happy with Orton and Sims.
