that is way too much to give to move up for Stafford. i'd rather let Orton or Simms take the snaps this year and get a QB in next seasons draft, or a mid round guy for McDip**** to groom, someone like Bomar or Harrell

I rather get a top Qb this year then next year load up on defensive players like McCoy ,Taylor Mays and Hughes from TCU.

I like Taylor at NT. Think he is vastly underrated.

I just read that detroit has fell in love with Stafford after a almost flawless workout. So it looks like the Broncos will have no chance to get Stafford or Sanchez. This is my new mock draft. The Broncos trade down with Detroit for 20 and 33 and 3 rounder for the 12 and 48 picks. Detroit wants Lt to protect stafford.
Broncos Draft
18 Josh Freeman ,franchise Qb
20 Beanie Wells,takes pressure off Orton .
33. Conner Barwin, Sam linebacker for Nolan scheme
3a Alex Magee 3-4 de
3b Terrance Taylor, NT
3c Kevin Barnes ,corner for Future
4 Dave Burton, safety with upside
5, Jasper Brinkley, Ted Linbacker
6. Victor Butler, Rush Linebacker
7a. Cecil Newton. Center that is good run blocker
7b. Tyler Roehl. backup fullback
The 2010 draft the Broncos get Gerald Mccoy and Taylor Mays in first round and Hughes from TCU in the second.

Freeman doesn't seem to fit what McD wants in his QB. Sanchez is the only 1st rd QB who seems to fit his offense and I really don't see us paying the price to move up for Sanchez.

Barwin's a nice pick, but I'm not a fan of the rest. Taylor's a short-armed NT who I don't really see making an impact. Brinkley will go well before #149. And McCoy's more of a 4-3 DT, I don't see his fit in a 3-4. I'd rather grab a DE early this year, pass on Taylor, then focus on Cody next year.

I really really hope we focus the front end of the draft on Defensive talent. Our offense will be fine with Orton/Simms. I could live with Sanchez if josh really wants him but the rest of the QBs in the first would seem to be a waste to me. Get a Fat boy or two for the D line and a couple of stud LBs IMO on the first day.

There isn't a top QB in this draft.

If Bradford or Mccoy had come out one of Stafford or Sanchez would've been a mid/late 1st and the other a 2nd rounder. Neither was considered a top 5 overall pick up until the real talented QBs in college decided to go back for a senior season.

Funny thing about that, QBs who play through their senior seasons also have much higher track records for success.

Wait on a QB until next year. Tebow is a better option for McDaniels' spread than Stafford or Sanchez, and we'll be able to get him for at most a 2nd rounder next year.
